no warning lights, the car was warmed up and running. it stalled and shut down.. can anybody think of a reason for this? note: it was cold out, but the car was fully warmed up and had a full tank of gas and no warning lights after it started again

I own a shop, and work on vehicles. The problem you had can be so many things, it would be hard to put the blame on any one thing. A problem such as this can be only diagnosed by using a scan tool that has snap shot capability. Snap shot tells you what everything was doing when the fault occurred. Unless it set a code in the computer, then this will be the only way to tell, and it would have to do it when the laptop/scan tool is hooked to the vehicle. Unless it sets a code, your on board computer doesn't store information like this. I would have the codes pulled to just see if anything is there, and if not then there is just not much you can do until it does it, and lasts long enough for it to set a code.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

I've put 1000's of miles on LS V8's and never heard of such a thing-must be something out of wack on that car, and I bet it would probably be hard to duplicate, so no one could diag the problem.
