It entirely depends on how good a price you want. Ebay is fine as long as you dont mind taking a hit on the price. Auto trader is best bet if you want reasonable money as long as you dont put a silly price up.

Your local rag is another good place. Most buyers dont travel great distances unless they are getting a great deal or its something unusual.

ebay.

autotrader is non negotiable.
Ex&M... well ive never even bothered
loot and gumtree..well their adverts are alway months old

ebay works because you can start it at a quid, and let 56 million people fight over it... all you need is good photographs, and teh ability to write decent copy... printed media is limited by geographical location. i bought my volvo in rochester 300 miles away, id never have seen it in any trade mag as im in a totally different area. at least Ebay is available to teh world, if they want a vectra...

and a 12 photo ad costs 10 quid for 10 days... i know i just flogged a 2litre mondeo...to a guy 250 miles away...

the trading post is the best place - thats where most people will go to look if they want to buy a second hand car. The online version of the trading post auto section is auto trader. www.autotrader.com.au/

Also look up your car on www.redbook.com.au to see what its worth.
