When you dont buy a ticket on the train and you get caught you pay a penalty fare (approx £20) but if you get a caution, what does that mean? Does it mean you have to go to court? bigger fine? can someone explain?

It means that if you get caught doing that trick again, you WILL be prosecuted.

A caution is an official warning and is the end of the matter.You dont go to court unless you do it again .The caution will be recorded.
