I take my car to the shop for one problem, the guy checks it out and does a complete inspection of my car and repairs those problems too. He says its covered by warranty, and the total cost covered was almost $3,000 worth of repairs. He only charges me for what I brought the car in for - only $100.

I also get a call back from him the day after I pick up the car. He says I picked up the car after he got off work and he wanted to see how everything was doing and he was checking up on me.

Does he sound interested?

Unless he rings again and asks you out...Id take it that he's just a good worker (or his workplace has a care of duty clause...meaning he is supposed to ensure he has the last positive word...so you will use the service again).

He said the repairs were under warranty, so technically he could NOT charge you more than the amount you brought it in for.....in fact he may have overcharged if it was FULLY covered by warranty.

Ignore the work ethic.......think about the time you actually spent together talking.....was that meaningful or indicative of him or you being single? Id always assume people are married or attached unless they say they arent....and most tradespeople slip that info in if they are interested.

Sounds suspicious to me. If your car was still under warranty, it probably didn't have $3,000 worth of things wrong with it. So he is probably lying about that. Hope you didn't sign any thing if he actually did the work as you could be held responsible for the $3,000.

Yup definately. Not only is the sign in that fact that he cut YOU and HUGE break but also in the fact that he wanted YOU to pick up the car AFTER he got off work
