For around 10 -15,000 years dogs have protected us, helped feed us, kept us company and died for us. So many people complain about dogs today without considering these facts.

Actually I think its an even trade. I feed my dogs provide them with medical attention that protects them, give them love and attention, provide shelter, toys and treats for them too. Its a partnership and I don't believe a partnership needs to be split in to "whom does the most for whom." I'm sure dogs don't have the capacity to look at it like that either. I'm just glad they are here.

I wouldn't be without my dog. He is my best friend, he knows when I need a cuddle and when I feel like playing. Its understandable why people complain though, there is only ever negative press about dogs and yes there are bad dogs just the same as any other type of animal. I feel very privileged to have such a wonderful companion

These people are just ingratful. I am glad you are not one of them. Yes dogs should be lavishing in thier owners love and affection and owners should be giving the dogs everything thier pooch needs. I worked at a animal shelter a while back and it makes you feel great to help the dogs that are neglected. Put all your love into a pup or dog and they will be a very loyal companion indeed. My dogs are spoiled heaps. I would be lost without them.
Hope you enjoy every moment with mans best friend. bye

Yes we do owe our dogs. My two are sitting either side of me at the moment... sleeping !! I have a Cairn and a Lahsa Apso. I love them both to bits, even though at times they 'play' me, but they're always my friend and they talk to me too. Only people that know their dogs would understand that.

They also play the part of angel or devil. They are described as saints, or as the devil in disguise.
Since dogs can't be both an angel or a devil, we must be saying something about ourselves with these labels.
We owe dogs the right to be treated as dogs.

how do dogs help feed us?
reverse these statistics - 10 - 15,000 years humans have housed dogs, kept them from dying in the wild or shelters, we have been a companion to them, played games and taught them tricks - i dont know of anyone who has died for their dog but my sister would..... her dog has more home comforts than some people do!
I think we are even with dogs - they show us there gratitude by protecting us, we show our gratitude by feeding them, playoing with them, walking them, vaccinating them from disease and worms and fleas.

Yes, we owe dogs a heck of alot! They have done things for us and we keep asking for more. We should look after all animals better

Absolutely... but actually we can return their love by protecting them, keeping them warm, feeding them well, and spending our time and love with them... People often say, "It's just a dog, what did it ever do for me"... to these people I say, they show us their love ever time they look us in the eyes and give us a big slobbery kss...

Dogs are the cause of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in cats. My cat has it now and is going through therapy and is on medical disability. Becasue of dog related flashbacks my cat can no longer chase mice and kill birds. So no thanks to dogs!

yes i think so, some people dont even treat dogs that nicely, they should have some respect for the dogs, and also horses, everyone whips them for the own good not anything for the horse. how would you feel if you always got whipped?
