If your software won't even install, it could be that it's not compatible with Vista. Contact the company that made it and ask them if they have updated their software for use with Vista.

Also, when you install it, make sure you are doing so using the administrator's account and that you have unchecked the box for User Account Control (UAC) in the account setup. Vista appears to not like people having control of their own computers.

Finally, if you can install it but it's not running properly, use the XP compatible setting.

Yeah, alot of people have been having trouble with Vista. Yes, try making it XP compatible if that dosen't work then go to the makers of the software's site and see if they have a Vista version.

Since it is hardware I assume it's something to do with the drivers. So maybe that is what you should look for on the support page of the manufactures site. Something like Driver Update.

If you need help post the Serial(if it has one) and model of that box/tool aswell as who makes it. I'll come back and check this post in 30 min.

Ha ha ha, oh that's funny, you bought Vista, and you expect all your old stuff to run with it? I needed that, that was quite funny!

Sorry, but you're gonna have to try every trick you can think of , XP mode might work, it might not. Once you have given up, contact the manufacturers of the FX box, and see if they have updated their software for Vista (highly unlikely to have done it yet, but you never know).
