some people don't really believe in global warming but i do there is nothing to stop it but we can prevent it. re-use,re-cycle,re-fuse,reduce that's sound to simple but it isn't we have to refuse the thing that is useful to us. i have written an 2500 words article on it but isn't enough to influence the people

Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

Shirin there is no doubt ...The UN report on climate change should put a lot of issues to rest and perhaps even silence the censors of the scientific community. The bottom line, this planet is in trouble. Even if we all act now we will are going to experience major climate change. Anyone with a rational mind has known this for decades. We, humans, are causing change and those changes are not going to be very positive for many unless we deal with the problem in a positive way now!

Time is not on our side. What we have sown, we shall reap. The question is do we want to keep planting the same polluted seeds and make matters even more dire? It is unfortunate that most people and governments seem to need a calamity before they will act to solve a problem. Can we afford to wait for another climatic catastrophe before we get our act together? How many will have to die in some weather disaster before we believe what the leading scientists of the world are telling us?

The White House said that they are considering the information but see no change forthcoming in policy. How arrogant! Will the weather killing field have to strike even more on U.S. shores before our so-called leaders wake up? Katrina wasn’t enough so what will it take? We cannot afford not to act because the cost of potential and probable disaster will far exceed any cost to address greenhouse gas emissions now. Retrofit is always more costly than building from the ground up. Exxon’s recent profit statement makes it obvious that money is available from the oil giants to tackle the pressing issues now. What good are record profits without a world to spend them in?Shirin April 22 is earth day and we all can join in and make a statement on the net to all the heads of our governments and see that some thing starts atleast now ...

A lot of time and money is being spent on global warming right now. And, fortunately, some money is being spent on the real science in an effort too understand climate change.

The difference is that the first is an unproven theory that everybody believes is a fact and the other is a fact that nobody believes or understands.

We all need to reduce our consumption of fossil fuels, and find alternate sources of electricity.
I heard a theory that if everyone in the whole world stopped using their cars foe one day a week, just one day a week there will be a significant reduction in the environment.
Another one I read is that we must better manage forest fires as they also contribute greatly to ozone depletion.
We could all plant more trees on our property
Reduce our consumption of over processed and packaged foods.
Use cold water wash for all clothing, hang your clothes outside to air dry. And stop using a dishwasher, wash by hand.
Ensure your home is well insulated.
Countries are trying to work towards this, but personally I don't think we are working hard or fast enough.
We all have to do our part and not think Oh well why should I bother, because my neighbour is doing everything he can, so, there is extra for me.
