I choose to wear it. I love it. It makes me feel good knowing that sex crazed men (not all, but quite a few) are angry that this woman refuses to show off her body like a cheap piece of meat. It forces a man to look at the mind, because he can't see chest size or waist size. He can't judge who I am based on my measurements and is forced to judge based on intellect. So why do you fundies feel the need to tell us how to dress? I LOVE being my religion, that's why I chose IT. I love my hijab. So, Terry G (clone) and my clone, get used to it because it's not going away. We're proud of who we are, and your fear only shows us that we're right.

Hey lady I am a Musllim and don't you go and tell stories now. For your information you can see the chest size and the size of the hips. Covering yourself does not disguise anything at all. Have you ever seen the women over in the Saudi Arabia and how they carry on? No I guess you have not; my heavens the way they paste on that eye make-up; especially when they are wearing the half-veil is really something and oh yeah the way the flirt with the boys when they think someone isn't looking. Oh lady I've heard stories that will make your skin crawl. Get this an American friend of mine had seen a Saudi woman and her driver getting it on, and oh yeah she was veiled to the hilt. How could she miss, the car the car was bouncing all over the place. So yeah I think that covering is for the birds! Oh yeah I've heard a few stories in how the men around here do things concerning the woman's cover. See, what they do is put it on themselves, disguise their voices to get past the dad or the brother and go and lay with the girl. Yeah that's right over here they mock it, there are some who do take it seriously.
No lady I fear you I am one of you. Yet you have to know what really goes on. Especially behind closed doors.
You were talking about sexed crazed men, well honey over here the girls are just as bad and literally go out of their way to get laid.
But, you know what it is swept under the rug and every one turns their head. Like I said you have to know the facts.
What I have just told you is not why I don't wear it, I feel like a prisoner in it, like the walls are closing in. So I stopped. Get no ideas to tell me I'm no Muslim.

"Sex crazed men ?" Is that all you can think about mens ? I'm not wondering anymore why you have a clone there. Maybe not she (your clone) had a problem here...maybe it's time you start thinking that you're the one who got a problems with the world ?
Tell me what you think when you met a nudist...could you respect her like you want to be respected when you wear burqa ? No ? ("show off her body like a cheap piece of meat')...Then don't ask question why some people not respect you at all !!! Women are NOT MEAT you bigots, fanatics, close minded bla bla bla... Ever heard the word "tolerance ?"
"We're proud of who we are"....proud is SIN !!
"your fear only shows us that we're right"...no one fear you...but your hypocrisy make me want to puke....

To cover the face even with a beard for man is a sign of hiding some like being ashamed.
God gave you a beautiful face, hair and body why hide what is a gift from God?
To look beautiful on the outside is to feel beautiful on the inside : )
You say you can't be judged if you hide behind your hijab
We are not here to be judged
Love & Blessings

I have no problem with what you wear. You are free to choose just as we all are.
The thing is that your attire has become a symbol for the opression of women. Many women cover up out of fear...also the idea that a woman is responsible for a man's thoughts hits most of us as a little odd. Men should be responsible for their own thoughts.
But other then then that...if that's what you choose and you are perfectly happy...go for it.

It does not bother me, except when I can not see someones face. I feel that half of the conversation between people can be displayed by expressions made in the face. If someone is covering their face it makes me feel as though they might be hiding something. But I do realize that it is customary so I do not make a big deal of it.

I have a problem with that piece of cloth. It makes a woman feel responsible for men's sexual behaviour towards her and I find that a backward and illiberal concept.
I want women to be free to express their feminity.
You HIDE an aspect of your adult feminity behind that cloth. It is an expression of your fear and I don't respect cowardly people.

Obviously you are having a conversation with someone in particular, because most people in this country do not have a problem with how you dress. We have problems with the ideology of the extremist sect of your "religion". You have your "fundies" that strap bombs to their bodies and kill innocent people. Believe me, you wearing a your "hijab" is of no concern to most of us.

I know you don't have a problem with it, I just keep thinking that it was without a doubt a man who came up with the tradition in the first place. I doubt he was worried about how the women felt about it.
Am I wrong to think that the hijab comes from insecurity/jealousy in men?

I have a problem with other women who are forced to wear it. As far as looking at your mind, the man in countries where women are forced to cover up do not have opportunity to engage in intelligent conversation with women. If you choose that it is fine. Believe it or not there are churches in America where the women cover their arms and legs and wear no makeup. But no one forces them to.
