My hands and feet are always cold. It doesn't matter how many layers of clothing I have on they usually still cold. Even when I am in bed, and the rest of me is nice and warm my feet are cold. I never realise until I touch them that they are really cold though! Why is this?

Note - I am 25, not overweight and excerise at least 3 times a week.

T he reason could be....Poor circulation of blood. The blood has not been pumped to your extremities.. See the doctor for a check up.

Hey there, your cold feet could be due to the fact that your thyroid glands are not producing enough thyroxin. Niacin and Vitamin E can also help circulation. Also try taking ginkgo biloba, 60mg 1 - 3 times daily. Get a really good multivitamin supplement with iodine into you twice a day, along with kelp tablets. Any health food store or chemist will have both. Ask the pharmacists/health food store advice on the best quality ones.

PEACE

Definitely poor circulation. Do you smoke? That can contribute to poor circulation. Also have you ever had a blood test to check your thyroid function? Classic sign of an under active thyroid is coldness. It's not serious at your age and can be helped with tablets. Worth checking out!

Sounds like Raynauds Disease. Its not life-threatening, but reflects a lack of flexibility in the muscle tissue lining of smaller blood vessels at the periphery ( ie. hands and feet). Try eating more garlic/onion, otherwise your GP might prescribe something to open the arteries a little.

It may be a syndrome with a special name and there are natural remedies but you need a proper medical diagnosis first. So I would advise that you go and see your doctor. Ah-just remembered-it could be Reynaud's disease (pronounced raynos)which my girlfriend used to suffer with. Same symptoms-cold hands and feet

Maybe if you are sitting still and you are not active at the moment then your heart wont be going too fast, so maybe the blood is not being pumped fast enough and not reaching your hands and feet as much as it reaches your arms and legs? Just a guess. xXx lol
