400 g spaghetti 250 g Pesto 100 g rocket 1 red chilli (deseeded and finely chopped) juice of 1 lemon 400 g prawns freshly grated parmesan (optional) Cook the pasta in salt water to package instructions. In the meantime, fry the prawns in a little olive oil, combine all the other ingredients in a bowl. Add the prawns. When the pasta is al dente, drain and refresh with cold water in the sieve so the spaghetti don't stick together (a quick rinse should be enough, you want the spaghetti to stay warm, don´t you?). Transfer back into their pot. Add the sauce and give it a thorough stir. Put onto plates, sprinkling with a bit of freshly grated parmesan if you like.

Look up the ingredients or preparation style names in a foreign language, which will make it sparkle a bit more. One doesn't say 'with added oil', it's 'drizzled with natural herbal jus' or other such cr*p that I see in the places that I eat. Always fails the plain English campaign test.

Also add mozzarella, tomatoes, pineapple, and basil - my all time pasta ingredient faves. Possibly some red onion for extra colour and texture, as well as its tangy taste.

Add some garlic of course, too - HEAT oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic cloves; sauté for approx. 4 minutes or until golden. Adds alot of bang for the buck!

Then add some herbs to taste, this depends on what you like and can also get hold of some fresh bits of, at the supermarket.

Good luck! Rob

I personally would add some spices (depending on what you like) then just call it ' spaghetti a la prawn de la cous' i have not idea what that means but if you saw that on a menu, dont tell me you wouldn't be interested to know what it was.

You can coat some courgettes with flour and fry them in a bit of butter and then add the prawns, spaghetti and a bit of cream.

Best for me:Spaghetti with prawns are delicious if you put in some courgettes and cherry tomatoes. You have to cut the courgettes like matches and the tomatoes in halves. Cook with onions and extra virgin olive oil. In the end you can add parsley.

Roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, veg, gravy, followed by sticky toffee pudding with custard. Sounds much more exiting doesn't it?

Actually you might want to leave the spaghetti & prawns out as they may not go so well with the other flavours.
