It's because we are imperfect, and until we are, we will be drawn to various kinds of evil. But I wish you would be more specific. Sex is not a sin, but can be done sinfully. Drinking alcohol is not a sin, but can be done sinfully. But then, there's nothing sinful about enjoying good music, good food, good literature, a good movie, good conversation or a walk in the park. Nothing sinful about watching the sunrise or swimming in a mountain lake. There's nothing sinful about covering up on cold nights or eating ice cream when it's hot. There are many pleasures in life that aren't sinful, but most things can be done for the wrong reasons or at the wrong time or under the wrong circumstances. Since I became a Christian, I have found more and more pleasure in living than I had before when I was striving so desperately to make myself happy.

Because religion is sadistic. The one thing religion fears most, more than "Satan," more than Islam, more than losing money, is that somewhere, someone might be having fun and not thinking about Jesus and their church. Sex is supposedly a gift from the gods, so where does anyone get the nerve to express contempt for the gift? Religion is about control, and they can't control the second-strongest drive in human nature, so they spend all their time and energy denouncing it. They know, deep down, they'll never be able to stop it, regardless of how much Jesus they throw at people. But that doesn't stop them from trying.
I read recently they were going to start targeting "abstinence education" to 19-to-26 year olds. Excuse me? It's bad enough they're throwing this crap at teenagers, but now they're going to try to tell working adults how to run their sex lives? OK, maybe they took a page from the Catholic playbook. Not a good idea. Somehow I get the idea trying to tell adults when they should have sex is going to result in religion losing even more credibility. I can hardly wait.

Fish bait wouldn't catch the fish if the fish didn't find it attractive. It is all about worship, and getting people on his side, and Satan is good at his job. The Almighty gave us a tremendous gift in love marriage and sex. If you take it apart, you destroy it!

The church knows that if it can get control of those popular things we all like to do it can get a slice of the action financially, it can tax us for them in a round about way...the church has no business interfering in your life in any way...always remember that.

Sex is good, but there is a time and place for it, which is within marriage.
God made sex feel good so that we'd continue doing it, thus keeping the human race alive.

So that the church would make sure no-one would escape sin. That and original sin, so we are all sinners, always, all the time.

That's not true, food and drink are often enjoyable and can't be considered sins.
Not that I care since I'm an atheist.
