I could probably help you out more if you would be a little more specific on what you are looking for. Try to yahoo some things you are looking for (i.e. breeds, trainings, supplies, etc). That is what I did when searching for my pup. I did a lot of research before making a decision even what type of dog I wanted. If you are looking to get a pup, make sure it fits your lifestyle. Take some tests online that will help you select the right breed for you. Eukanuba (I don't think I spelled it right, but its the dog food brand) has a pretty good tests that covers all the breeds. My advice when searching for a pup, consider whether or not you want an inside or outside dog, small vs large breed, mutt vs pure breed, etc. If you already have pets, you may want to look into getting one that will get along with other pets well. I know Chihauha's are often one person only type dogs and don't get along with other animals too. Small dogs arn't as good with children because they can be easily hurt. I like getting purebred dogs better, that away, you have a pretty good idea what kind of temperment and how big they will get, verses a dog you really don't know what it is that may have a bad temperment later on or grow to be 100 lbs. Good luck.
PS: Try looking at the AKC website. They have all the breeds. I suggest if you do get a dog, try to get an AKC registered ones. They are very good about making sure the momma dogs arn't over bred and whatever you do, do n't buy from a pet store and buy your pup from a good breeder that offers a health guaranetee. Most reputable breeders will. Dogs don't come cheap, so look to pay a couple of hundred for a good one. If someone is trying to sell you a cheap dog, they are trying to get rid of it for a reason, dogs arn't cheap but worth it. I have a cocker spaniel and a japanese chin.

what sort of info are you after
It is said that 'dog is mans best friend'. Different breeds have individual qualities and thier different needs of care. I own a chihuahua(Lady), a chihuahua x(Mindi) and a Japanese chin(Suki) and they are all unique. Lady has her mood swings and growls when the other two come into the same room as her. Mindi is annoyingly clever, she jumps on the chair onto the desk then the ironing board making her way to the kitchen bench to get food. And Suki, will suddenly sit down andhowls in the middle of playing.
Puppies should be fed two or three times a day and as they get older reduce it gradually to once a day. I feed them in the morning so they can go out for an hour or two after eating to do thier business. But if it's an outdoor dog you after it wont matter day or night so long as you stick to the time of day. Be aware some dog bisciuts make dogs itch and scrathing makes them loose fur.
Fresh water must be available through the day. If it's a long haired dog groom him regularly to keep the fur from matting.
My fave breed is the Japanese chin because thay are a loyal, flat face, cute companion.
Hope this helped

First of all, if you are planning on buying or taking one from someone be sure the type dog fits your lifestyle or home life.
What that means is, check out the breeds temperment....you can do that online by searching the different breeds.
Two, we are a "dog" family..always had dogs both inside and outside. The ones in the house become part of the family, just like your kids would for you have to give them attention and love back also. The outside you have to also give them attention too and love. They in return will love you back.
Add details if you meant more information type you wanted.

Before you can ask a genuine question on dogs you have to prepare yourself to ask the question. First get wet under a shower while fully clothed, shake yourself vigorously and then go round and round for a full minute. Now .... what was your question?

I really don't think you are ready to be a dog owner just yet. You better wait until you know which dog breed you want, read books on them and just be around any dog for that matter. Your question shows you haven't been around to many dogs.

Basically dogs eat, poop, smell stuff, pee on things, walk, run, bite, bark, sit, stand, jump, trot, lie down, roll, dig, cover, crawl, lick, breed, give birth (female) and die just to name a few things.
