I don't know. I can't get my nose near enough to sniff it myself and I have never asked anybody else to sniff it!

My friend gets this - it depends a lot on the depth of your belly button. The deeper it goes, the more likely you are to get this problem. The reason it happens (assuming it's not sore, or oozing pus, in which case you should definitely see a doctor) is because it is a warm, dark, and sometimes damp area of the body - the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive. The smell may be similar to the gunk you get from underneath your toenails.

You can get rid of it by making a concerted effort to clean it thoroughly each day, and perhaps use a cotton bud to get in to all the nooks and crannies. You should probably find it disappears if you do this.

If it's smelly then you aren't cleaning it properly!! The belly button can hold a lot of bacteria and can get fungal infections. Make sure you thoroughly wash it,try using a cotton bud, then dry it properly-don't leave it even slightly damp!! This should work if you do it properly.

When I wake up after a night out it's not too fragrant. Normally it's not something I check, but my husband is a tummy kisser, so I'm sure he would have said something by now.

no i dont
when you bath and shower everyday you also clean your belly button with soap and warm or hot water.
if you have an inny then occasionally you should clean it with a wet cotton bud.
