Yes money is a factor, but it relates to the actual energy produced. Until recently it took more energy to make a solar pannel than it would ever produce in it's working lifetime.
For that reason solar pannels were only practical in places or things where connection to the electricity grid would be impractical.
Since then the cost of making solar pannels has improved considerably both in terms of energy and costs. Howeve they are still about the most expensive way to make electricity. Busineesses make the same decisions as homeonwers based on what they can afford, and except for a few individuals who want to make a point very few homes have solar pannes either.
As for the business system it is trying hard to improve the manufacture technology of solar pannels because many people know that if they can make a more cost effective solar pannel a lot of people would buy it and the business that sold it would become rich.
Business and capitalism are the solution to apply to many of our energy problems, not the root of them. There is a demand by the public for better technology that saves energy, but most individuals cant pay the price of expensive new technology. The businesses realize it and attempt to research the technology to make it cheaper so their own company can make a profit.
As for those promoting solar power. IT IS BUSINESSES that sell it, certainly those businesses promote it.

In this country what would be the point? The amount of money to manufacture, delivery, install and maintain solar cells is very high, and the amount of power delivered is not worth it. This could change with a major scientific breakthrough in the way solar cells convert sunlight to power - but that's not happened yet!
The same goes for wind farms, with the added issue that we wreck the last few bits of wilderness we have installing them. There is 1 exception to this - cities. I think that every large building in cities should be fitted with wind turbines - the cities are already ugly monstrosities, the wind farms wouldn't make any difference.
Nuclear power is the only long-term hope for man-kinds power requirement (baring significant technological breakthrough in solar power generation). Otherwise, we're all going to be in the dark!

Businesses are for making profits. Intial Investment is more in case of Solar energy. Hence only Government will be able to promote this. But they can promote this by the help of different private participation. Maintenance is also difficult in the different equipments in connection with the solar energy.

It is due to the short term nature of business thinking, to invest in solar would mean investment now which will effect the organisations bottom line and hence the profit given to shareholders.
Shareholders only think in the short term, they want gains now and don't want to wait 10 years for a good return, it is all about capitilism and the need for quick returns.
People only think in the short term and cannot see the long term benfit that investment now will save money in 10 to 15 years time, it takes a good business plan to convince people.
Bosses need to make money now to keep people happy and as carrers are short term they are unwilling to risk their neck for the future!
That make sense?

because there is big money in the other fuels. Mustn't upset their apple cart sales.
I someone out there can teach/show us little people how to put togther a solar power plant cheaply for our homes, etc, then we will all have solar power.

Too expensive for not much output. Soon, though, somebody will invent solar panels with a high enough output to make them viable.

Good idea. Too simple for todays businesses and government though. They insist on complicating things.
