If you are in Manhatten go to Chelsea Market for a variety of places and do not miss Carnegie Deli on 7th Avenue. I would go back to NY for the “Woody Allen” alone. That’s a corned beef and pastrami on rye. Try Tribeca Grill, which is co-owned by Robert De Niero, at the corner of Greenwich St. and Franklin St. It was a little expensive but it was nice and I enjoyed the food.
Go to Tavern on the Green, located inside Central Park, for a romantic meal and I’ve heard nice things about the Fairway Market Cafe and Steakhouse on Broadway. Defiantly go to Pommes Frites on 2nd Ave between7th Street and St. Marks Place for a good snack and Magnolia Bakery if you have a sweet tooth. They can be a bit unpleasant but the cupcakes are worth it. Hope this helps...

There are lots but the ones around 50th and 3rd were very good. You also had a choice of resturants to choose from around the area: Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Mexican. The Indian was particularly good (on 49th and 3rd if I remember).
