I have some questions concerning the following verses. I want to know how Islam can be peaceful with the following verses being in the Korean. And how it can be accepting of other religions.

Surah 5:51 O ye who believe! Take none among the Jews and Christians as your protectors and friends.

Hadith 9:57 Mohhamad says if anyone changes from the Islamic religion, kill him.

Surah 5:29 Fight all those who do not believe in Allah.

Surah 4:34 As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill conduct, admonish them, refuse to share their beds, and beat them...

Hadith 9:57 Any action against Islam results in one's death. (paraphrased)

Hopefully all the references are correct - I don't have a copy sitting in front of me right now. If I missed spelled anything or miscited anything I apologize. It is not my intention to misrepresent a religion.

I also have a problem with the fact that he married one of his wives when she was six and then consumated the marriage when she was nine. M also had multiple wives but from what I hear followers are only supposed to have one wife. How does this work?

Hello there, I would like to explain these verses. Well I see that you're honest and not ill-intent, so I'll just explain one by one.

Surah 5:51, it explains that in the past, Jews and Christians(Not to say people of the religion, merely the people) were hypocrites and didn't listen to God. So basicly here it's just that God doesn't want us to be friends with hypocrites.

Hadith 9:57 states that if someone converts out of Islam, kill him. Well the truth is he must be asked why he wants to leave and gave him a reasonable reply at least 3 times first. If he's still leaving, well according to the Shariah we need him killed because he would call people to leave Islam. But, Shariah law also state that rape=kill, but we don't practice that anymore, just to adapt to this world.

Surah 5:29 actually says " Surely I wish that you should bear the sin committed against me and your own sin, and so you would be of the inmates of the fire, and this is the recompense of the unjust. "

As for Surah 4:34, it says " Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all). . "

To slap isn't really beat, my ex-gf slapped me alot o_O

Hopefully you could understand better, any questions please ask reliable sources again.

Edit: Alright, replying to your extra detail, in the times of Muhammad, girls as young as 7 marry. Muhammad's 3rd wife, was 16 at time of marriage, and Muhammad was her 3rd husband. If she was 16 at the time for her 3rd marriage, so you get the picture.

Anyways, followers can have up to 4 wives, IF he could support and divide the love evenly. There are rules to follow.

1- Islam allows us even to marry christian or Jew woman .. the correct translation of the verse is: don't take them as protectors, ally .. read the next verse for more understanding.

2- No one is allowed to declare his apostasy in an Islamic state, if he did he is given a chance to repent. here is the reason why:

[3:72] A section of the people of the book say: believe in the morning what is revealed to the believers, but reject it at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) turn back;

3- light beating is the last solution before divorce .. that's why you find that beating comes after admonishing and refusal to share their beds .. the next verse is talking about divorce.

Ok...What I keep finding funny with all these postings made by people trying to put down Islam, is they are only putting half of what is written!
You write one thing, but do you put the sentence written above it? That actually explains what He is talking about?

The women beating thing...before that it says : If your wife is disloyal then FIRST you ignore them, SECOND you refuse to share bed with them, and THIRD and in a severe case should you hit her.
You are only seeing what you want to see. When you pick up the Quran you want to find "bad" things in it, so that is all you find. If you wanted to find good things you would find them. You would see the whole Quran is filled with GOOD, TRUE Wholehearted stories.

Your only intention in this posting is not in trying to better yourself as a person and discover truly what the other Religion is about, you are merely trying to advocate your feelings of animosity towards something you can't understand.

I am sorry but this is 5:29 you are quoting

[29] "Verily, I intend to let you draw my sin on yourself as well as yours, then you will be one of the dwellers of the Fire; and that is the recompense of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)."

did you have a copy and past problem?

also for 4:34 here is a complete not a TRUNCATED translation

[34] Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allâh has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allâh and to their husbands), and guard in the husband's absence what Allâh orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband's property). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allâh is Ever Most High, Most Great.

As for your other problems one of them is not true his followers are allowed UP to 4 WIVES

why did you need to paraphrase 9:57 we will not understand it or your twisitng will be clear as 5:29?

that's an thrilling aspect. You made a salient statement, for sure Islam is the real faith, and because of this many human beings convert to Islam. although the authorities isn't pleased with Islam, because the authorities needs to have finished administration over human beings. for this reason the authorities makes use of the media to regulate human beings's innovations and twist the information with the intention to renounce human beings from following the real faith: Islam. for sure the 9/11 attacks replaced into an zionist-FBI pastime, yet thank God, now human beings recognize the actuality. you're more desirable than welcome to embody Islam, please visit the nearest Islamic middle to get more desirable information. wish you the proper, sturdy success!

What you need to do is read the koran more, so you can understand it in context. The Jews have some disgusting verses in their Tora. And the bible ain't all peace and love.

If you don't have a copy sitting in front of you, then you can't expect a decent answer because only you can understand God in your own way. And it is clearly your intention to misrepresent Islam, but instead you've just misrepresented yourself.

First off all the verses you quote are taken out of context. I advice you to read the whole chapter and its history before you judge anyone. As far as hadith please let me know the which hadith its from because there are strong and weak hadith.

As far as Jihad: The word "Jihad" means struggle, or to be specific, striving in the cause of God. Any struggle done in day-to-day life to please God can be considered Jihad. One of the highest levels of Jihad is to stand up to a tyrant and speak a word of truth. Control of the self from wrong doings is also a great Jihad. One of the forms of Jihad is to take up arms in defense of Islam or a Muslim country when Islam is attacked. This kind of Jihad has to be declared by the religious leadership or by a Muslim head of state who is following the Quran and Sunnah.

A few selected verses from the Qur’an are often misquoted to perpetuate the myth that Islam promotes violence, and exhorts its followers to kill those outside the pale of Islam.

1. Verse from Surah Taubah
The following verse from Surah Taubah is very often quoted by critics of Islam, to show that Islam promotes violence, bloodshed and brutality:

"Kill the mushriqeen (pagans, polytheists, kuffar) where ever you find them."
[Al-Qur’an 9:5]

2. Context of verse is during battlefield
Critics of Islam actually quote this verse out of context. In order to understand the context, we need to read from verse 1 of this surah. It says that there was a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Mushriqs (pagans) of Makkah. This treaty was violated by the Mushriqs of Makkah. A period of four months was given to the Mushriqs of Makkah to make amends. Otherwise war would be declared against them. Verse 5 of Surah Taubah says:

"But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is oft-forgiving, Most merciful."
[Al-Qur’an 9:5]

This verse is quoted during a battle.

3. Example of war between America and Vietnam
We know that America was once at war with Vietnam. Suppose the President of America or the General of the American Army told the American soldiers during the war: "Wherever you find the Vietnamese, kill them". Today if I say that the American President said, "Wherever you find Vietnamese, kill them" without giving the context, I will make him sound like a butcher. But if I quote him in context, that he said it during a war, it will sound very logical, as he was trying to boost the morale of the American soldiers during the war.

4. Verse 9:5 quoted to boost morale of Muslims during battle

Similarly in Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 5 the Qur’an says, "Kill the Mushriqs where ever you find them", during a battle to boost the morale of the Muslim soldiers. What the Qur’an is telling Muslim soldiers is, don’t be afraid during battle; wherever you find the enemies kill them.

5. Shourie jumps from verse 5 to verse 7
Arun Shourie is one of the staunchest critics of Islam in India. He quotes the same verse, Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 5 in his book ‘The World of Fatwahs’, on page 572. After quoting verse 5 he jumps to verse 7 of Surah Taubah. Any sensible person will realise that he has skipped verse 6.

6. Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer
Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer to the allegation that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed. It says:

"If one amongst the pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure that is because they are men without knowledge."
[Al-Qur’an 9:6]

The Qur’an not only says that a Mushriq seeking asylum during the battle should be granted refuge, but also that he should be escorted to a secure place. In the present international scenario, even a kind, peace-loving army General, during a battle, may let the enemy soldiers go free, if they want peace. But which army General will ever tell his soldiers, that if the enemy soldiers want peace during a battle, don’t just let them go free, but also escort them to a place of security?

This is exactly what Allah (swt) says in the Glorious Qur’an to promote peace in the world.
