yes, it happened w/ out my making any effort other than prayer, but we should remember that sometimes when we pray & our prayer does not happen then it's not God's will
for it to happen OR maybe the timing is not right & God will have it happen @ the time that is best.
take care

I know it was prayer. It's winter here now, and winter usually isn't like this. There had been no snow at all. I went out to my car to run to Walgreen's to buy some Triaminic Night Time Cold and Cough for my daughter. I found that my tire was completely flat. I had no choice because it was night time and nothing was open, so I drove carefully to the store and bought what my daughter needed. The store I go to for repairing my tires is 20 miles away. With the way my tire was, it didn't look like I'd get far without damaging that part that the wheel actually goes on. I think it's the chassis? Anyway, everyone was at work or at a doctor the next day, and my children were with my mom. It snowed heavily the next day, which allowed me cushioning on that side by driving carefully. I did get there, and they were surprised when I told them my address. They said that the rim should have been damaged and needed replacing normally, but it was fine and the tire was still on there. They changed it and I was ok. So I know that my prayers work. God blesses us in so many ways. Our prayers may not be answered right away because something better is in store, but they do get answered.

Neat question.
My faith tells me that prayer has worked for me. I can recall three times when I have asked for intercession, and received some guidance.
Your question is interesting because I tend to view the results opposite your own: How would I be able to tell that those times I was assisted were *not* influenced by a guiding power other than my own?

I have the life of a minister that I wanted for many years. It was not by my own efforts because i did not make any superhuman attempts to go after it. I never went to anybody and said, "Ordain me." I never asked to be ordained---it just happened, which is the way it is supposed to. I never went to seminary. I attended Bible college by correspondence. I did not seek out the ministry that ordained me---I was sent over on the spur of the moment as an observer and ended up becoming a worker, which I did not ask to become. I was available---that was God's doing, not mine. My only qualification was and is that I was and am willing to commit my life to Christ and to serve him through serving others.

See when you pray you should work in accordance with that prayer. You dont pray for a job and dont put out applications.resumes. You have to act on your prayer and work along with it.
Chance? Chance is God. When things that wouldnt normaklllyn happen just happen to occur, thats God. We thank God for things that happen by chance or anything else.
We owe and thank God for our life. He is the reason of all our existence (my belief) ther fore I nthank him in prayer for still being able to experience or recieve anything.

It works for me and for all humanity.
The most brutal man, when bowing down in prayer, immediately becomes more lovely than any other good man who refuses to surrender his will under the Will of the One True God.
Just imagine, how the world will become when more individuals quietly pray and correct his faults every day.

If you believe in God, then you are aware that all things are to His glory. An answer to prayer, depending on what that prayer is, sometimes require you to do something.

Prayer has certainly worked for me. And I know if it wasn't for God I would not be here now. In 1999 I went to NY for about 2-3 weeks as I am from Melbourne. I went over to meet a male from NY.We had lots of fights mainly because of Alochol and he was not the right one for me anyway. After about 3 days he left me stranded because of a fight. I was drunk on the night we had a fight and after he walked out I was wanting to get home ASAP. I need 100 dollors to change my airfair ticket to get home as my flight was not due to come home for about 2-3 weeks. I was about 2000 dollors over my limit on my credit card and I would not go through anymore and I was in trouble. As I was having my shower I asked God to please help me get home ASAP as I was drunk. I was not a christian then and God has always looked out for me. After my shower I ran accros the road to the Gas station and banged on the window and said it was an emergency, as it was. This was around 3 o'clock in the morning. The guy made me a hot chocolate. He got his brother to come over with his taxi. His brother did, and took me back to get all my belongings and back to the air port free of charge. The taxi ride would have costed me over 100 dollors as it was a long way back to the airport. So I got my ride free of charge. Then as soon as I got to Lagwadia airport I checked in with no money, and it would have costed me 100 dollors to come back early. Anyway when it came my turn as I was next in line the airports computor systems just shut down and they swiped my card instead of putting it through electronecally as it would have said declined or contact bank and i would have been in trouble and would have had to spend another 2-3 weeks in NY with no money no accomidation no food I would have come home in a body bag for sure. So after they swiped my card they had me on stanby, in other words no garauntee I would have gotten on the plane. 5 minutes later they came back and told me what flight number I would be on. Phew. I got to Housten and got in the plane there, and then LA, and the plane was all booked up and had no flights until the next day. But God never left me, and the lady came back and said even though the place was full she would get me on and told me what time it would leave and the number of my flight. I slept like a baby on the way home. I was back in my bed the next day. Praise God. I have had so many miracles supernaturaly I will be up all night if I were to tell of them all. Praise God, he is the best.
