I just came back from vacation in a tropical place(Bahamas)...and despite the cold climate in winter, I am very happy to come back to Canada...Its clean and modern, and I love the crisp clean air, the safe drinkable sparkling clean water, and the massive multi-cultural harmony going on. Its like heaven on earth. Plus we have more variety of sports and activities, having 4 seasons instead of just 1. And when you want a break from one of the seasons, its a free country, you're welcome to travel out of the country, and you're welcome back too. Canadians are welcome everywhere else too, we respect other nations and are not a threat to them, and we are allowed to travel places other nations can't, for example Cuba. Oh, and the foods here are reasonably priced and the best, from all over the world. I always miss the variety we have here when I travel.
Love Canada !

I used to live in Canada (Montreal then Toronto). Montreal has a very european feel...loved it! and miss it :( ...Lots of small cafés and an awesome nightlife on St. Laurent. Old Montreal, lots of festivals in the summer...but colder than Toronto and Vancouver.
Toronto is similar to Chicago ...big city but with a lot more cultural diversity. First thing you might notice is the mix of faces...a good representation of the world. Weather still cold but not as bad as Montreal.
I visited Vancouver once. It's beautiful...breathtaking...if you love the outdoors then Vancouver is the place to be. Can't say too much about the weather but I heard that it's milder on the west coast.
The people are great! I love how there are so many people from different parts of the world all living together peacefully. And because there are so many different nationalities, there are so many different restaurants to try!
Oh and if you plan on living there for a long time, take advantage of the "free" healthcare ;)

I love it here I would not live anywhere else, Weather is good you get all 4 sessions year round. People are well people but I would say friendly yet u will still get some a$$ holes.
BC- is real beautiful is hot but can rain a lot 2 can get snow but not often can be rare
Alberta- Is a good place to live can get dry and in winter yes you will get snow
Saskatchewan- not that grate real flat land
Manitoba- I have never been so not 2 sure
Ontario- Has a lot of people in it places like Toronto would be like New York or close to
Quebec- Well is there the Majority of the French are
NB, NS, P.E.I The maritimes - I have never gone that far but all I can say is you will here strong Canadian accent that is where you may here then talk like "No doot a boot it EH!" Trust me I have never heard Canadians talk like that maybe the odd one say EH!
If what I put dose not really make you want to come here trust me it is 1000+ times better just throwing some stuff out good and bad
I have never gone to any of the places above like Yukon, Northwest Territories, or Nunavut
I know you will love it here Most people that come visit here love it and all Canadians love to live here I have not heard 1 say they hate it here.
So now Canada, to be or not to be? I would say 2 be

It depends on what area you are thinking about far as the weather. Major cities will be more diverse. Quebec is a predominantly French Provence where other places you will have a combination of both French and English. Some areas more heavily one language than the other. It is a beautiful country and there is still areas that I have yet to see. I have family scattered from the East to West and took vacations to visit over the years. If you are really serious about this, take some vacations to areas that you think you might like.
Now there will still be the issues of getting the appropriate papers to move to Canada with American Citizenship, etc.

Well, as a Canadian I'd like to think we have much to offer. Although, like any country, you get your good and your ignorant, most Canadians tend to be friendly. Yes, we do tend to be left of centre in our politics but we are also in many ways quite conservative. We like to think of ourselves as pragmatic centrists, a little left on some things, a little right on others.
As for our climate, it ranges from arboreal to tundra to Arctic, we cover all the bases in the climate department.
It is the second largest nation on the planet and as such, there are great distances between the major city centres, which is where you'll find most people. The cultures are very diverse, from the laid back attitude of Vancouver to the Joie de Vivre of Montreal and all cultures in between.
To be sure, we are, as everyone else, not perfect but we do try our best to be friendly and accommodating. Hopefully you will enjoy your time here and should you decide to come then......WELCOME.

1 thing is it is a huge country, much bigger then the United States and mostly colder depending on where you are. The people are also different depending on where you go. If you are just across the border from the United States, then it is very much similar to the States, however, if you are far away from the border, it changes dramatically. Also which part of Canada changes. Good Luck.

Canada had every climate zone you could think of, every nationality, every food in fact - anything you want you can probably find it in Canada. So you will need to do your research and decide what you want, what you are looking for and then match it to where you should live.
We can not wait to move back to British Columbia! Best place on earth.
