I heard about a group of 7 youths in 1995 who all decended into hell as Jesus took them at the same time to shown them hell. I have not problem believing them. What worries me is that they saw some people there because they did not tithe. They asked the Lord why are these people here for that. And Jesus said will anybody rob God, and Jesus said it is a command. I do not want to go to hell. Please give me some advise. There youths also saw people hanging on a wall chained up with the agony of the fire around them, and demons taunting them, and pearcing them with their spears right through their flesh. Jesus said it is going to be a lot worse on Judgement day and the lake of fire will be l worse that that. If hell is torture and torment now, Jesus said the lake of fire will be worse. Help me christians, do I have to go to church and tithe?

I do have a problem believing about the 7 youths, and as a born again Bible Believing Christian, I think I have a duty to have some serious doubt about it. But as to your question.
God expects us to tithe, it is not just an Old Testament law.
Jesus clearly has that expectation of that Matthew 23:23 is and example where He states the Pharisees tithed with mint... but neglected (compassion), but they should have done all of it.
You've got the parable of the widows mite... etc etc.
And as far as going to church. In Hebrews there is the admonishment we are not to neglect the gathering together.(Hebrews 10:25).
Leann, I cannot say whether or not you will go to heaven or hell.
Certainly not based on whether or not you tithe or go to church.
But doing neither suggests your heart is not as into God and His mission as you would like others to believe. There is no way to not make this sound harsh. And I regret that, but there is a greater purpose here in representing Christ aright rather than causing you to feel good with empty "feel good" words.
But I will say this, the evidence you present from your posts suggest you are skating on thin ice. What I read suggests not that you are caught up in the Holy Spirit but in your own estatic spirit and are neglecting to align you feelings with scripture.
Before I wrote this I saw someone elses post about their mother being booted out of the church, and I am sorry that happened because if it really was for the reason stated then the church family was definitely in the wrong.

No - you do not have to go to church and tithe. It actually isn't commanded that you tithe. It's not considered robbing God. If you are Christian you should be donating your time and engery to other pursuits that highlight your faith. Tithing does not make or break your ascent to heaven. In fact I'm pretty sure that I have heard some Christians claim it is unbibical.

My husband does not attend a church. Part of it has to do with his work - he works all night and then gets off at 8 AM in the morning and has to drive a long ways home. Also - he has been unable to find a church were he has felt at home. Doesn't make him any less of a Christian. He is a Rep for a national motorcycle ministry - he works to bring people to Jesus.

My husbands mother was condemned at several churches because she is a single mother. Her husband left her. She's never been back - and is one of the most beautiful and devout people I know.

Going to church shouldn't make your faith. If it enhances it go ahead. But you aren't going to be condemned to hell for not tithing.

Tithing was an Old Testament tradition. God asked his people for 1/10 of their crops to be given back to the church. Tithing can mean money, time or donations to anywhere, anything. Give to charities, give time in volunteering, share your wealth is what they are saying.

Everything we own is given to us from God. We own nothing. We were born with nothing and will die with nothing. Share your gifts.

In the New Testament, we are told to be with "like believers". If this means go to church to you, then do it. If it just means to make sure your friends are Christians, also, then do that. I doesn't mean your whole life has to be surrounded by church members, church won't get you to heaven.

See, WE are Jesus's church. That is what Jesus said. His believers are the church, not a building. Early Christians had no buildings to sit in, they met anywhere they could, some in hiding to avoid persecution. I thank God we don't have to do that.

As far as visions go, like the one you speak about here, you can believe them or not. I think it's an individual thing. Just pray for your own "visions" or revelations of truth from the Almighty. He will guide you.

God Bless You.

Hi Leanne, look please stop worrying about this as it is not a requirement for your eternal salvation, it is your relationship with God and how you put this into practice each day that matters, avoid sin and pray daily,as for tithing what good would this be if you are not living your life in God.

You do not have to tithe to go to heaven.
Look at Ephesians 2:8-9:"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

No, that's what they want you to believe. In reality Hell is a quiet lounge bar where the 'damned' who 'sinned' get to relax, hang out and enjoy themselves.
