Back pain is expected at any time during pregnancy. If it increases or changes in character, call your doc. Put a heating pad on it, have your husband rub it with oil, try sleeping with a body pillow, bathe in lavender. Good luck.

I'm so sorry you have back pain. I'm a back pain patient myself and am being treated at a pain clinic. Please see your doctor. After 17 weeks of back pain, you really need to be seen. There are many remedies and options available to you. Don't fool around with pain. This is an indication that something is wrong.

It is not usual to have back pain at 17 weeks of pregnancy
Before you try any 'home' remedies ,
go and see your Doctor or Midwife
and ask about this back pain.
Please do not ignore pain ,
it is your body telling you, something is not right .
I wish you all the best

There is a book that teaches about muscles, pain and referred pain anywhere in the body. The principle is that the muscles get knots called trigger points which make the muscles tight that then press on nerves. It teaches how to get them to release which gets rid of the pain.
The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I also use a chiropractor and massage therapist as needed.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. Before that try some home remedies from this site. http://aches.in/cramps.html
