I may have surgery soon and appreciate your feedback.

For purposes of this discussion, follicular lesions of the thyroid are defined as follicular carcinomas, follicular adenomas, and nodules of goiters.

It isn't clear what your endocrinologist diagnosed from your question. I have had two cases of follicular adenomas--both were cold nodules (which suggest malignancy), but neither was cancerous. My thyroid testing was all within normal limits, and the only clinical symptom was goiter-like enlargement of the gland and coughing when lying in bed.
The surgery was simple (I do not form keloids--ask your doctor about this).
The first time they performed a nodulectomy, while the second time (over ten years later) they removed the entire lobe.
Now I take low dose synthroid every day to "sedate" my thyroid in hopes it won't do this again.

Julie, I will also be praying for the doctors and other medical staff who are working on your situation. God is in control! I pray His great and mighty peace is with you.

Mark =)
