UNTRUE! That's the "theory" about Plasma TVs...

Not as far as I know. If anything wears out, it will be the backlights (the lights that shine through the color lcd to make the screen "glow") or the driver circuitry. I'm not specifically aware of any LCD lifespan as such.
Plasma, on the other hand, I think does have a lifespan. At least I know that some of them suffer burn-in (the screen can be damaged by showing the same picture for too long).

I realize this has already been answered correctly but I was here, so, I have an LCD big screen, the TV should last for years, but the bulb, many of which are user replaceable, last about two years worth of normal viewing. Then it costs $250 to $400 to purchase a replacement.

It depends on how many hours a day it is on. Those have a lamp inside that shines in through liquid crystals to give you the picture. THat is what will go after quite a few hours of viewing time. In my experience, most people leave the TV on even while out of the room for extended periods. If you want it to last, turn it off if you won't be watching it for a while. I had to train myself to do the same.

Yes and Yes. However the viewing angle is 178° and time on the tube is 60,000 hours with the ones being produces now. so the equivelent answer is No and No. The problems have been solved.
