I appologise for my ignorance but if i dont ask i will never know.
The reason i ask is because my sons specialist Dr is a Muslim, and i did'nt know whether to send him a christmas card last year, as i might offend him.

I don't think a Muslim would be offended, but no, they don't celebrate Christmas. It would be like a Catholic celebrating Chanukkah, it's simply not done.

You can send him a card for a Muslim holiday instead.

Muslims do not celebrate christmas, but my family and myself do. There has never been a year when I did not celebrate christmas. I like christmas cause we receive gifts and spend time with family and neighbours.
If he's a muslim who likes to enjoy himself, then no prob, you won't offend him. But if he's the type of muslim with long beard and religious, then you better not.
But that doesn't mean I don't pray! When it's time to celebrate, I celebrate.

nicely to provide insurance isn't haraam..i imagine you perchance asking about coverage? i'm no longer efficient.. yet existence coverage is haraam.. well being coverage in a real Islamic community must be provided for you through the authorities. As Muslim NO we do not have a good time Christmas because we do not trust in Issa(PBUH) as being divine.

There is no talk of Christmas in the bible or any biblical text for that manner. So the real question is, why would any religion celebrate Christmas.

They can celebrate it for you..
That is the responsibilty of Muslim to keep his relation with family as well as possible as long as it don't confrant the Islam or against.
Celebration nothing wrong I think. BTW if he is a good Muslim.

You wouldn't offend him. We see it as a sincere gesture. Most don't and won't, but if you have family who is Christian you are to act respectfully. My mother is Christian, and she popped up at my house that morning with gifts for the family. I knew she probably would so I had some waiting for her and my other family members who came with her. I don't get offended at all by it. My aunt and uncle send me a card every year with the photo on it. I keep it as a memory and know that it's meant that they wish me happiness and love on that day. We're not offended by it. He'll take it as a kind gesture.
