I ve been using Limewire recently to download stuff, with no
problem. But suddenly since yesterday the quality of my connection has worsened.Well, actually my connection is lost.
The program says I have no internet connection (which is false,as
you can understand, since I m posting this here) or I have a Firewall installed that causes problems to Limewire (which I have,
but Limewire is allowed to operate, and also that was no problem the days before yesterday).
What do you think is the problem and what can I do???

There are several possibilities.

First, your network. Are you on someone else's network? (i.e. college) They could have blocked the ports.

Second, I assume you already restarted your computer? Limewire can clog the network and basically shut it down; restarting will refresh the connections.

Third, try switching ports inside Limewire (I believe the default is 7001?) try 9999 or 10111 or something else (it doesn't really matter because Limewire will broadcast the new port), again this helps if something is blocking the Limewire port of 7001(?).

Fourth, need more info on your network. Does everything else work OK? MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger?, Internet Explorer? If you're still having problems ask again with more info about the network setup you have. Good Luck

PS Why does everyone assume Limewire is used to download pirated media? No one mentions that porn (even unpirated porn) is the most downloaded media on these types of network. Just wondering.

you use limewire you expect pitfalls and looks like you could be in one.p2p is a flood of files and virus and spyware and malware and trojans need i say more.filesharers will never learn,i see it on many forums they download and download then get messed up and then have to format and reinstall windows and then carry on and get messed up again, man is it worth the aggro to save buying a few cds or a couple of dvds, programs i can never understand as for every program out there that people download and use pirate versions of there are always freeware alternatives that do the job just as good and in some cases even better.as for piracy etc all it achieves is to push the price up for those who pay for what they want,if everyone packed the piracy in then software and cds and dvds would be far cheaper.entirely up to you what you do but its not a good way to get everything off of p2p networks.
