It's a great opportunity. If I could turn back time, I would enlist all over again. The fitness standards have increased since when I went first in. They test run times, push-ups and sit-ups now and there are nor frequent Squadron, Group and Wing runs. The quality of life is better than ever! I believe It still has more technical career positions than any other branch (except possibly the Navy). You should have 0with the majority of AFSC's) the opportunity to go to college and continue your education--with the AF picking up 100% of your tuition costs (while on active duty).

I'm in the air force and currently in Afghanistan. I'm having tons of fun. I agree with the first answer..we do a LOT more than what we get credit for. You'll hear people call us the "chair force" but that's just because they're jealous that we're smart enough to be able to do our jobs sitting down....ok maybe not. I'm a weapons troop for the F-15 strike eagle. I've really enjoyed myself here and the military life really isn't bad at all.
There are great opportunities and the benifits are wonderful! I'm married and so my husband gets lots of benifits as well.
...and to the person that said that all the hot chics are in the AF...yes. I happen to be one of them :) but really, there are all the military branches here, and yup. He's right. Who says you can't be hot AND smart?
If you have more questions u can IM or e-mail me

Air Force is a great career. I have been in for over 8 years, 5 spent as an enlisted troop and the last 3.5 as an Officer. It is truly a rewarding feeling to serve your country and have fun doing it. I would highly suggest enlisting if you are unsure of what your plans are in the future.
I joined out of High School mainly to get my schooling paid for and to get out of my parents house. What I got out of it was not only the two things I mentioned but I got to see the US meet all sorts of different people, experience things only a person in the military can experience.
I fly a Strike Eagle and I sometimes think I should pay them for letting me fly it. If you don't like flying there are many other great jobs to chose from in the AF. I would suggest going to your recruiter tell him what your interests are and look at your options. Military is not for everyone but for most it's like being in a big family.

yes, the Air Force...aka The Chair Force is a big player in our defense.
Ever since Billy Mitchell in 1927 told the Joint Chiefs of Staff
that Japan was going to Bomb Pearl harbor...billy showed the Navy that Airplanes was the wave of the future .
WW II ..the RAF and the US Air Force contributed greatly to the victory over Nazi Germany, Italy, and Japan.
I was in the Air Force during Viet Nam and we bombed the hell out of a lot of jungle...i was in the upper pennisula for three years.

What about the Air Force?
I was in the Marines, so leaving service rivalry aside, I can tell you that the Air Force personnel I knew were very professional and competent, even if their uniforms looked like Greyhound bus driver uniforms...
I think all the services will agree--the US Air Force has the hottest women.

an enlistee in the airforce is typically a booksmart person. the level of physical fitness required is lowest among all the branches. They have a lot of high tech jobs. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose the air force, they have better places to go also.

first off i love the air force, but im gonna have to say i envied them a little in iraq. i remember one time i was at al asad air base and while all the guys in my unit were wearing full gear sweating our asses off i saw a couple airforce guys walking around with nothing but a top, bottom, and boots! no weapon, no armor, not even a cover(hat)!
also on the way to iraq we rode air force planes and our flight was delayed at each stop for repairs! then on the way back to kuwait we rode a c-130 and i dont know what the hell the pilot was doing but he was making erratic movements which caused a couple guys to puke in their helmets! haha, good times
