I personally believe that we all are a part of God. Each one of us is a fragment of "him/her". I think that God encompasses everything and everyone.

But to answer your question, the best way we can get to God is to understand as many people as possible and abolish all prejudices of the mind. God is not discriminating towards any of his/her creations. Most major religions teach that God loves us all, and so you should learn to do that as well.

But it's pretty hard to do! Most people can't empathize with murderers, myself included, but God probably loves them as much as you and I.
