If I have any alcohol, I always get really sore puffy eyelids the following morning. I know the solution would be not to drink, I would like to know the reason behind the puffy eyelids.

Yes, alcohol is a diuretic However, the signs of puffiness means that your body has become dehydrated. The more alcohol you drink, the more you pee..but you need to replace this water loss with something other than alcohol, such as water or juice. This will help maintain fluid balance within the body's tissues. If you become dehyrated or do not drink enough fluid generally, your body will 'hang on' to as much water as it can in order to try and maintain the fluid balance (fluid retention).
Some people experience it around the ankles or tummy, and like you, some people get it around the eyes, particularly after a boozy night out

Firstly Lefty, I feel saddened for you particularly as you have only one leg. It must look remarkably odd when only one ankle assumes the look of a well nourished sapling. However, your observation of wildlife is most remarkable and perhaps you could be on the verge of the discovery of a "happy marriage" pill. If your idea is successful, the diuretic tablets could be modified for human use and become compulsory for that monthly occasion when all us men can do is take cover for a week to avoid injury from any collateral damage caused by the condition - a condition which has sure been responsible for the breakdown of 90% of marriages. You should take this idea to the pharmaceutical companies as their current Swine flu scam is now losing effect and they would surely be eager to move on to their next multi-billion dollar scam.

All i know is that when someone drinks a little too much, body tends to swell up, gradually. IT is a sign that your liver is not working properly. Get yourself checked.
