In my opinion, Ali hands down.
No man has ever matched his speed and determination in the ring. Granted, he did employ some dodgy tactics, but those were the rules back then, he never did anything beyond that. Tyson, while he packs a mean punch, just doesn't quite cut it in terms of the great boxing legend Ali.

Float like a butterfly sting like a bee : P
(ali wins in terms of slogans too...)

Hope this helps~

Of those 2, then Ali, by a street. Tyson was finished at the age of 23.

All you have to do is look through some of the resolved questions posed to realise that just about everyone here regards Ali as the greatest Heavyweight, and Sugar Ray Robinson as the best boxer ever, pound for pound.

Neither Sugar Ray Robinson was probably the greatest boxer of all time. Ali and Tyson are certainly the two most famous and well known boxers of all time but not the best

Ali, without doubts, for the following reasons:
1. He was a better strategist and had more courage than Tyson who relied more on brute strength and meanness.
2. He had the guts to stand up and speak for himself, even at the cost of going against the government (eg. reg. enlisting for war).
3. He was very witty.
4. Finally, when we talk about the greatest of all time, in any field, it is the quality of enduring popularity that matters. And who would deny that a hundred years down the line, Ali would be still be a legend, whereas Tyson's name would just be relegated among one of the good boxers in his time.

Ali hands down. Tysons form of boxing could easily be done by Ali but he gave the benefit of the doubt to other fighters out of respect. He showed the opponent that he was there to box as it is a sport. Tyson with his power beat his opponents fast and it was no sport. As we know of Tysons fight with Douglas that he couldn't go the distance, as Ali went almost every round. If the two met in both their primes Ali would dance away from Tyson whose face would eventually be a bloody mess. As with the Frazier vs. Ali fight. We know that Ali can take one of the hardest punches and get right back up. His intent was not to knock out his opponant like a brawler in the street but keep it as a sport that the fans could appreciate. Street fighting should be left in the streets.

This is a very intresting in my opinon They are both very skilled But I would have to see Muhammd Ali and I will tell you why.

Muhammed Ali is very fast while Tyson has a hard punch it varies If Tyson is fast enough and gets some good hits on Ali he would win But Ali is not famous for his strength but his crazy speed and we know you need speed to dodge strength.

There style's thoe of the same nature are completely differnt.

If you want MY personal opinon I would say Joe Louis he had 72 fights and he only lost 3 of them out of that and he was the best heavyweight champion around.

No question , Ali was the greatest Ali . Ali had too much speed , Tyson was a one dimensional fighter . Came straight at you .
In case you wanted to see an Ali- Tyson fight .
Watch the Ali-Clevand Williams fight . Go to You tube . Williams had a KO punch but yet was flattened by Ali in 3 rounds .
Also Ali could take a punch , but in this case he woulddn't need to , Ali was too fast .Nevertheless it would have been a great fight while it lasted .

Ali !!!

Why

Well Tyson is/was a great fighter but Ali faced Joe Frazer who was similar to Tyson and also the thought to be unbeatable at the time George Foreman.

He beat them both with rope a dope tactics and his unbelievable speed and ring man ship ability.

Hope this helps

Ali by a margin. Tyson explosive, entertaining and unfortunately led astray by he of the electric shock therapy hair.
Ali had everything ring craft explosive bursts, incredible hand speed, and amazing mobility.
Tyson was superb and had a great sense of where he stood in the pantheon of heavyweight boxers, BUT didn't have the class of opponent that Ali did, time after time after time (Richard Dunn excepted).

Seabreeze Joe Louis, by dint of WWII was the longest reigning Heavyweight Champion in history.

Neither. Sugar Ray Robinson was the greatest boxer of all time. Tyson is not even in the discussion.
