Human life is short. It is not meant to be wasted on issues of cricket. Since people admire and follow you, albeit for wrong reasons, you should understand the necessity of unlearning the wrongs that you have learnt in life. Slowly you should inculcate the virtue of doing devotion to the eternally most beloved Shri Krishna.
I wish you success and may you be blessed!

If you mean someone in particular then no one's answer except the kind of person you are focussed on, can be of any help. As for us.
Eternal time is not on anybody's side.
It was created by the Supreme Lord Krishna by his internal potency.
Krishna took time to answer Arjuna's question in a battlefield. He didn't just dismiss them outright considering the time and place.

You are absolutely right. Life is short and therefore as you mentioned, one should ask intelligent question so as to be doing devotion to the eternally most beloved Shri Krishna.

Now, the question is how it can be achieved. It is by chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra as explained by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)

HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA
KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE
HARE RAMA HARE RAMA
RAMA RAMA HARE HARE

The word Hare is the form of addressing the energy of the Lord, and the words Krishna and Rama are forms of addressing the Lord Himself. Both Krishna and Rama mean the supreme pleasure, and Hara is the supreme pleasure energy of the Lord, changed to Hare in the vocative. The supreme pleasure energy of the Lord helps us to reach the Lord. . .

These three words, namely Hare, Krishna and Rama, are the transcendental seeds of the maha-mantra. The chanting is a spiritual call for the Lord and His energy, to give protection to the conditioned soul. This chanting is exactly like the genuine cry of a child for its mother's presence. Mother Hara helps the devotee achieve the Lord Father's grace, and the Lord reveals Himself to the devotee who chants this mantra sincerely. . .

No other means of spiritual realization is as effective in this age of quarrel and hypocrisy as the maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

Your question is kinda confusing and doesn't really make any sense but its because small talk gets through awkward silences no one likes those but if you really trust someone and know someone those awkward silences shouldnt matter and you should be able to enjoy them at times and talk when you feel like talking usually when you first meet someone its small talk then develops into conversation.
