The new Elantra is a great car by the worlds #3 ranked car in initial quality. I see alot of posts about parts being costly, but they are still cheaper then those from all of those overpriced European car brands. Also, most auto stores sell Hyundai parts now or can order them for you at no additional charge. And lets be honest, how many parts other then air/oil filter, tires, brake pads does one really replace during the first 100,000 miles of use of a car? The answer is few if any other parts besides fluids which are purchasable at Wal-Mart even.

we own an 05 elantra GT that has 51,000 miles on it, no problems. It is a great comfortable riding car. we maintain the car properly so I am sure we will get alot more miles on the car. We would highly recommend buying one. Contrary to many people's beliefs Hyundais do last if maintained. We had a 1988 Hyundai excel that had over 200,000 miles on it with no problems. It was totaled when someone ran a red light. we owned a 05 civic-very disappointed with it-sold it. the hyundai has a plant in Alabama

I have an 04 Elantra GT and I love it. Fantastic value. I've never had a moment's trouble with it. The dealer is fantastic. They replaced my headlights for free after 3 years of driving---no parts, no labor. Roadside assistance is fast, easy and free (and can be used for accidents, flat tires, and even when you're stuck in the snow). The GT has leather interior and an upgraded sound system---but before you buy, consider that the tires are much more expensive to replace than the tires on the GLS because they're sport tires. The price difference to me was in the neighborhood of $100 for 4 tires.

Bottom line, you want to save money and get a great car ?? Then get yourself an Elantra. I am an 02 GLS owner and we have had ZERO problems that haven't been covered under warranty. And the one problem we had, while a big one, was covered...no questions or problems.

Elantra, unlike those "other" cars, comes pretty much standard with all the bells and whistles that most people want, for THOUSANDS less than the competition. Better warranty+more money in your pocket=you're a fool to buy something else.

Doesn't make sense - How can you pay out 3000 in the first year if the car is still under warranty? Dealer will fix the problem for free......

Anyways here are some user reviews of the Hyundai Elantra:

I had a mid size car before my elantra and it was very hard to adjust to the change. if you can, i would go one step up to the sonata. a world if difference. my hyndai get decent gass millage. i put 50k on in the 1st year with no problems so far. the seats are not all that plush, and you hear a lot of road noise, but i guess it just depends on what you are use to. I went with this because i knew i would have 100k+ in just over 2 years so i wanted a cheap, gas friendly car.

I had an Elantra and then I got an XG350. Elantras are cheap, but Hyundai does fix EVERYTHING for free (even headlights). They are pretty small, but very safe.

Hyundai's gotten a lot better in quality, I still don't have positive thoughts on them due to the lack of parts in the aftermarket. they are few and far between. going to the dealer with a 200% markup because everything comes from Korea is nuts.
