this question is a follow up to a previous question over a video that did not get quite the responce i was expecting.

maybe children should wait untill they are at least over 16 or 18 before learning the deeper more contraversial understandings of the universe.

its one thing to teach them the love of jesus, its another to tell them that evolution, and global warming is wrong and simply political. i also dont understand why parents are so willing to build they're childrens understanding of one faith, without giving them understanding of other religious or spiritual beliefs.

a childs mind is so malliable, it will accept any information you give them to be the literal truth. we have to be careful what knowledge we feed them. just because you feel strongly about a contraversial topic does not mean it should be imposed on your child. such topics should wait until they have devoloped critical thinking skills.

Your never to young to learn anything, life is simple, learning is simple, we are simple.
To tell a child a belief, over scientific evidence is just going to cause future confusion. I "believe" we should teach things we can answer to construct a foundation for childrens understanding, then faith, religion and so forth should be a future choice for children. At a young age is hard to define whats belief and whats fact, they just take everything their parents say as true.

The transcendental world is so confusing, parents are just trying to save their children from hell, saving them in essence. If they were given the means to understand deeper when they were young, like 16 - 18, in other religions, and theories, they wouldnt be so scared, so lost. Confused parents, teaching confused children.

My parents raised me with the knowledge of Jesus, but really openly, and never denying whats proven. I was free to learn and grow, it is parents who stop children from learning, that are the problem.

One of the best things, a drunken mate said, who doesnt know jack s**t about religion and so forth was "If God is all knowing, how could z hand full of men know everything God wants us to know, wouldnt it take like heaps of people."
I replied, "wow... now I understand what they mean when they say "the road that leads to all, leads to one." One religion cant be right, in our drunken rants.

In closing... A child has free will, I feared hell, and the devil and so forth, then I relised, what if my parents are wrong, then they will suffer in another religions hell, for example.
And thus stemmed my occult study. Now im sitting in Yahoo! answers half drunk, sobering up from drinking with mates.

Why not wait until they're 80?

I don't know many 75 year olds who understand the meanng of the cosmos, either.

The authentic Christian faith is a great gift that is intended by God to be passed from parent to child, in every generation, so transmitting the authentic faith is the duty of every Christian parent.

To do otherwise, especially in this day and age, is to do a great disservice to both God and family.

Without a clear understanding of the fundamental principles of the Christian faith, it's unlikely that any child would be able to make much sense of this world, or ever be capable of discerning the real truth ... about global warming, politics, or anything else.

although i agree that children should not be fed a one sided opinion
however i do think you underestimate a childs understanding of things
my 9 year old understands global warming perfectly as we encourage conserving energy in the home
however she also understands that my faith is my faith and she must find her own , so i try to teach about many faiths and also why some people dont accept religion
i have 3 children of different age groups
i just use this one as an example xx

kids ask allot of questions, i know i did, my mother was at a loss with some about faith even when i was only 7 years old, if anything, adults should be asking kids what the truth is, who god is, what a spirit is made of. thomas

children and adults alike they both sometimes fail to fathom the minds relevance when it comes to genius . But, so what, on a physical plane I wouldn't expect to lift 600 lbs either.
