Yes, we definitely can! the trouble is -- at your age -- no one has ever seen us
engaged in an actual force against force conflict......not in terms of a military
conflict anyway. The conflicts you've read about are more politically governed
use of military forces who are not able to engage with full military strategies
and tactics. Especially, tactics and power. That's why we didn't "win" in V.N.
and won't [can't] in Iraq. Our U.S. Army is not in charge. Politicians are and
the politicians have precluded true military action, save in the initial stages
of invading Iraq. We could have devastated 8 or 9 nations by now without
the use of nuclear weapons--that has NOT been the mission. Do not doubt our ability to actually fight a REAL battle or WAR!
Don't even "start" to EVER think we can't absolutely DESTROY or ANNIHILATE
or WIN! Don't even raise the question in your mind.

If you are talking about in Iraq, well, there will be no clear cut victory, so you have to break it down.
1. Did we topple Saddam.....yes, victory there.
2. Did we kill more enemies than they did Allies,,,,,yes, victory.
3. Will we leave Iraq peaceful.........Not likely.....Loss there
4. Will the Iraqi nation be an Allie of the U.S......If we leave prematurely and the gov. is over thrown......loss there.
5. Did we lose less troops than we thought we would,,,,,no, pentagon estimates were 10,000 in the first two months. ....we are there for 4 years now and havent even lost half of that....victory (any loss is bad, but this isn't as bad as was thought)
6. With or without Allied forces, we could have done the same, but the UK (our only major contributor) was a big help.
