God is energy or spirit. You cannot equate Him with a person in flesh and blood. All the religious practises are meant for cleansing men of their impurities so as to qualify themselves to realise God. The mind is the villain that impedes us in our endeavour to realise God. A body, where the mind becomes still is a perfect vehicle for God realisation.
