The genes for male pattern baldness can be inherited from either side, so look at all your male relatives and see what your odds are.
If you get to 30 without showing any signs of receding, then the chances are you will not go significantly bald.
There's nothing you can do about it that doesn't look silly (note Elton John's many attempts). Look on the bright side - male baldness depends on good levels of testosterone, so going bald proves there is nothing wrong with your virility. The only true cure for baldness is castration!!
Another thing to remember is that the vast majority of women do NOT have a problem with baldness - its men who freak out about it.

That doesn't mean you definitely will - my fathers hair started receding when he was in his late 30's - I am now 47 and have a thick full head of hair - albeit going grey - take into account your mums side of the family as well - if they all have good thick hair the chances are you will be OK!

Colour it in with a felt pen to match your hair colour ??? Not really - sorry love, there isnt anything that you can realistically do aside from eating healthily etc to try and retain your hair as long as possible. Dont go down the route of paying out vast sums of money on stuff - a miracle doesnt exist yet. xxxxxxxxxx

Hair loss is now thought to be the result of an interaction of several different autosomal genes that could be inherited from either parent. Therefore, even if your father has experienced hair loss, this is no guarantee that you will as well, if you have not inherited the specific combination of genes that cause it.

your hair is based off of the mothers side. how are the men on your mothers side, are they losing their hair? do they have receding hairlines? thats where you need to look to see what will happen with your hair.

Probably...some male pattern baldness is hereditary(on the maternal side though.)
No,you can't stop it..unless you take female hormones..they have even worse side-effects.
Cut your hair short..No1..it wont be so noticable...it will look good..and manly(unlike a perm or waves)..how many bald (not bold...Sal.) do you know?

Sounds like it is the heredity, and you can't stop it. However, there are hair transplants, and some treatments called rogaine.
