This sign is dark and ugly. I am not the least bit interested in whatever is being advertised. It seems like an intrusion and affects my being free to answer questions. If it is not removed, I think I'll stay away from Yahoo Answers until it is gone. If you agree, let's contact Yahoo Answers and let it be known.

OK, It's not the number it's the grotesque face flickering. And I don't mind advertising if it's something decent. This is low-life stuff that looks like it should be displayed on Halloween. This is February. Where are the hearts and flowers?
Thanks for all your helpful advice. I understand advertising, but does it have to be "cut-throat", henious stuff? Can't Yahoo do a little better than that?

So what if you contact them and they want you to pay for the advertising in order to remove the ad. Would you be up for that? (Probably not.) Just ignore it, or check out of Y!A until March. The ads will likely switch to something else by then.

OMG! 23? 2 divided by 3 rounds to .667! OMG! (Yes, I know it's .6 repeating, but that would make it .666666~ as well, which is also not the "number of the beast".) Seriously though, I'm not sure Jim Carrey can pull off actual acting.

Yahoo! Answers is free because of advertising like that. Without them, you'd be moaning about having to pay to come on here.

I just ignore which is not of my use.
What you are saying right - its disturbing. Please do not look at it. If it was done by George Bush we could have said something to change, here it is a Yahoo's site - they would do what is most suitable for them.

Yeah, I can't be bothered with those unwanted messages. It's advertising Jim Carrey's new movie. I can't stand him myself, actually, so I won't be going to see it.

It should be gone when the movie comes out, hopefully, it looks completely contrived anyways. But, its just one more week.

Other people pay to annoy us with their adverts so that we don't have to pay to use this site. The ad won't be there for long - ignore it.

Why are you unhappy about this number? What does it symbolise?
Personally, I am not unhappy about it. In fact, I haven't really noticed it.

It's stupid, but you can just ignore it. If it pays for the site, then it's worth keeping it there.
