Do you live in California or New York? haha seriously though, there are a lot of women out there that are not liKE THAT. There are many kind, giving, women, just keep looking. Maybe you are too superficial in your choices and thats why. you didn't say your age or the women's ages. sometimes if you date women that are way younger they can be like that. Some (not all) younger women tend to take advantage of older men, thats why they date them. try being less picky about looks and age and maybe you will find a true kind women.

That question is a slippery slope. For one, ALL women are not like this. I, for one, am not. I am sure this relates somehow to Valentine's Day, which is a stupid holiday anyway. I am a girl and I don't need money or things to make me happy or to love someone. I have been with the same boy for seven years and he has never gotten me anything for Valentine's Day, and it doesn't bother me. What I appreciate are the things he does every other day of year. I appreciate the things that matter, like his honesty and integrity and hard work and tenderness and respect for people.

It depends on each woman.
No all women are the same...
This question could have been put the other way round: Why do men only care about what they get?
It has not to do with gender but with attitude...

Not all woman are materialistic, and gold digging idiots. That is if you're referring to woman receiving gifts and such. If my boyfriend ever got me anything on Valentines day that cost more than a penny, I'd drop kick him. I told my boyfriend that I'd never expect him to buy me things for any occasion. He made me a poem for valentines day. I still feel like an idiot for participating in this lame holiday. I don't like receiving things from people, makes me feel awkward. I actually made my boyfriend cry when I told him that if he ever proposed to me and gave me a ring, I'd force him to take it back. If I ever get any jewelery from him, it better be hand made. So in a way I do care about what I get. I don't want anything that costs money. I want things from the heart, and things that he created himself. I don't want my boyfriend to ever spend money on something so pointless like a gift on valentines day, yet he wants to. Dumb fool. So I guess I do care in a sense about what I get...but it's not about how much he spends or how big it is. Woman who complain and feel the need to receive expensive things need someone to drop kick them.

This is not a fair statement. I think it goes with society itself and how you are raised. Some of us have morals, values, and integrity, and care about other human beings other than ourselves. It's not always about things for some of us woman. For me it's about what I can give back to the world.

There are many of us who do not "only" care about that. If you have a girlfriend or wife who does, then she is not a very mature person and seems very superficial. You can do better than a life with someone who is materialistic.

I am a woman.
I care because i might get something that physically hurts my body. If i do, I wouldn't care about it and end up putting it in the bin.
