Personally I think its won by having more ammo. Americas problem is that we are too nice to our enemies. We are more worried about public relations than winning. If we were ruthless this war would have been over over a year ago.

I can write an essay for the topic. Come on be specific. War is itself a vague word. I can take any situation and write thousands of words. But , from what i understood -
War is definitely won by Optimism and persistence. Having a great amount of ammo doesn't necessarily mean one can win a war. There has to be a tactic commander and overall a air of optimism.

War is won mostly through proper combat strategy and training. Don't get me wrong, the side with more people is at an advantage (proportionate to the difference in troops), but numbers alone don't win the battle.
As for optimism, morale does play some part, but I think it takes a back seat to proper conditioning.
Also, although I hate to nag, this isn't really "religion or spirituality".

Moral is a huge factor. When you get a chance, read about the 20th volunteer regiment of Maine during the Civil War. Truly impressive what men can do when they are determined, even when they are out-numbered, out-gunned and poorly conditioned. It will definately answer your question.

The side with the strongest economy will win in the long run, while having more and better weapons is an initial advantage.
Wars are waged because all human groups feel that they have the right to enslave others.
But only if they can get away with it.

Dude, if we hadn't cut off Hitler's fuel supply we'd be living in a different world right now. If you can't kill your opponent what good is fighting? Optimism will only give you so much. Bullets do the real work, man.

Neither, there are no winners in war. Wars are for losers which is also the outcome of war; loss. Loss of loved ones, homes, freedoms etc.

nobody ever wins wars. both sides lose very dearly. human lives, property, wealth and personal realtions. ammunition only destroys, does not help build anything ever.
