Muslims represent the threat of violence today, not Christians. Christians are not flying planes into buidlings or cutting off people's heads. They might be a little fanatical and dance in the aisles, but that's about it.

In the 12-14th century, Muslims were leading an intellectual Renaissance across Europe. But the radicals within Islam eventually shut down intellectual and economic growth. Today, most Islamic countries are struggling with poor infrastructures, educational institutions, and healthcare. Muslim scientific contributions are at a standstill. It is as if time stopped in many Islamic countries.
If the Islamic religious community had single leadership or even a single organization, then they would be able to rein in the fanatics, and heretics within the faith. As it is now, there is no church hierarchy, thus the imams of local areas dictate the faith.
Where is the public outrage by the Islamic leadership community over the actions of a few radical Islamists? You don't see it or hear it in the media. Only isolated voices speak out from time to time because "no one speaks for Islam" at a global level.

It is because, quite simply, each of them have been brainwashed into believing they are doing their gods will.
Having the power of, I am a better person than you are and I am going to heaven because I am saved and therefore a better person than such evil infidels and sinners as you,
Spurred on both by the promise of riches in a dreamy rich land (although the love of riches is forbidden) & the threat of eternally cooking like marshmallows in a devil's hell if they don't drop to their knees and serve and worship their god right then (never know when you will die! Do you want to take a chance?) they furiously preach and labor to reach...
those that are lost. Ya know, to the Muslim, if you are not converted to their religion, you are such a horrid person. The Christian, likewise, thinks people who don't get "saved" are so awful, gosh, how can you stand it?
These are the causes of the violence and the war. Each must preach, defend, and convert others for their god.
In each religion, extremist, fanatical about being 100% faithful to their god above all else, take vengeance and lash out, evidently really believing the lie that were there a god that powerful, they really need their help to destroy their enemies.
There goes loving your enemies!
Some people even hate satan, although I find nowhere in the bible that says he is hated, merely that he is sinful, that noone can serve 2 masters etc, but if god didn't love satan, then why did he create him? An unloving god is illogical to serve.
People have gotten things totally wacko.
Expect the future seed to be much worse, as the extremists kids are even more so. Religion is causing people to lose sight of everyone as family and friends, and instead is causing them to see them as evil sinners and enemies to be destroyed.
Hopefully, one day, the ridiculous lunacy of religion is superseded with a religion-less society that is able to focus on peace, united in a brotherly compassion. Not global religious wars & jihads for un-seeable gods.

I know, it's sad isn't it? There's so much positivity that comes from religion, yet it creates divisions in humanity. Even within the same religion!
It all comes down to people. We are, and always have been, a vicious and brutal species. So are the other primates, for that matter. I guess some things never change.

Christianity and Islam are two entirely different ideologies, each of which feels it must totally eliminate the other.
Whence wars.
The differences are that Christianity asserts that it is a religion of love (often imposed by cruelty) while Islam asserts that by submission to a deity it is a religion of justice (but justice only for Muslims).
And so never the twain shall meet.

They both harbor vain, and false religious beliefs. Were they to adopt an honest and truthful life style they could both be happy.
To look at reality and not a man made fake deity is to open the door to concentrating on the real problems that exist here and now in our own time and world.Religion only serves to trick and confuse for good intent but ignorant to true means . The road to perdition is paved with good intent and lip service to high ideas.

To believe in the God and being in favour of goodness, so what does create the difference between people? Praying much more in Friday as a Muslim? or in Saturday as a Jewish? or in Sunday as a Cristian? Or never? As a Turkish man, I think we are all the same.

Religion is a VERRRYYYYY touchy subject. You say that you're just expressing your beliefs, while the guy you're talking to has a rather high probability of getting grossly offended and interpretting what you're saying as blasphemy.
But then there ARE folks out there who CHOOSE to be insulting of other people's beliefs without even trying to get any real point across, which is just not cricket in any way. :S

There some Christians and Muslim who are very rude and not open minded when it comes to religion..I guess if everyone respects each other belief and try to be happy for others, then their will be no war between Christian and Muslims..

i imagine that for particular sub-communities of Christianity and Islam, it really is a situation of collective amnesia. in relation to Christianity, that's the exhortation of turning the different cheek from the Sermon on the Mount. In Islam, that's the exhortation that "human beings of the e book" should be below the secure practices of Muslims. (That Islam spread so without delay in its first century replaced into partly because of Christians being persecuted by technique of alternative Christians searching for secure practices below Muslim armies.) in the previous Judaism grew to develop right into a oftentimes going on faith, it easily had a bloody historic previous (ask the Amalekites). After the Babylonian Captivity and the beginnings of rabbinical Judaism, i imagine that Jews were only attempting to be left on my own, yet were keen to guard themselves. briefly, all 3 Abrahamic faiths are non violent religions, a minimum of even as it contains interacting with one yet another. regrettably, there are rogue aspects of all 3 that provide fodder for sceptics to apply as justification for his or her particular atheistic faith.

It all started with the age old story of the patriarch of faith...Abraham or Abram
As I understand it, Isaac is who the Christians believed he almost sacrificed, and the Muslims believe it was Ishmael.
Both were brothers, and one of them was to carry out the promise....it is just a question of who it was~
