My fiancee just got arrested for battery and I can't afford to get him out. So I was kind of wondering if anyone out there has an idea about how long they might make him stay with a $100 bond.

Until the trial or hearing is over or he posts bond. If he's sentenced to any time in jail, then the judge will probably consider it "time served" and he'll just get probation.

If he cannot bond out himself or have someone bond him out, he will stay in jail until he goes to court. If it is going to be a while before he goes to court, he may get transported to another jail until his court date.

The jail I work for only holds people for 72 hours, if they haven't bonded by then or if they have a no-bond charge/warrant, they get transported to the county jail.

You could always call the jail he is at now and ask when his court date will be and if there is a chance of him getting transported elsewhere.

depends....if he has prior convictions then he might stay longer...if this is his first time, then probably a few days until he goes to court......due process states that a person must be arraigned within 48 hours, so in 48 hours he will know his charge and the next step which is another court date or the charges being dropped.

How long do you think that it will be before this loser starts hitting YOU? Leave him in jail, and find another guy - nobody should have to put up with that, and NO woman needs to get married that bad!

Depending on what state and locale he is locked up in, usually until he plea-bargains out, or until after the trial, one way or the other.

The number of days depends upon the penalty plus more days for the aggravating circumstances or decrease the number of days depending upon the mitigating circumstances presented.

If he has to stay longer so he can learn from his mistakes, so be it.
