He is called by what He revealed Himself as ------ the Father - Son relationship is very appropriate for what God was trying to teach us about Himself. The relationship between Father and Son is very different from a relationship between Father and daughter. There is the burden of responsibility, the burden of care for the rest of the family, the special closeness and bond between Father and Son, etc. etc. God the Son was God long before He was known to us as Jesus. He was The Word, He was God, He was in the beginning when there was no beginning. There is no gender bias in God, He simply relates to us in a way that we can understand within the scope of our limitations. After all, did He not create male AND female? I am sure God knows more about how to define Himself than we do.

God has no son. There is no trinity, the word "trinity" isn't anywhere in the Bible, no matter what translation you look in. And no, Jesus is not God. This is a leftover belief from the time. At that time, the enlightened Pagans believed in Dualism, which was believing in god and man in one. The early Christians attracted Pagans to their new religion by using the psychology of the day, which was to portray Jesus as a man-god. In fact, some of the early Christians were Pagan themselves, so Dualism was already part of their psyche.

One good example of Dualism is Pharaoh - man on Earth, god in the afterlife.

God is neither male nor female. We refere to God as male, but really, S/He is neither. God created gender, but has no gender and needs no gender. God needs nothing. God created need, therefore God is above need.

God chose a man because humanity can never accept a woman Messenger of God, not even now. Besides, it's hard enough being Messenger of God, even harder if you have to deal with menstrual cycles, pregnancy, labor, taking care of babies, breastfeeding, etc. I imagine a man would be better able to devote more time to teaching a new Revelation from God because he would have a wife to take care of the kids. That's the only reason, it's got nothing to do with mental/spiritual ability.

If a woman wouldn't be taken seriously now, she certainly wouldn't be taken seriously before. She'd be dead in a heartbeat.

God revealed himself as a male.

His son is eternally begotten of the same godly essence as the Father, so is also considered male.

The Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son, so is male, as well.

The Father and the Holy Spirit are pure spirits, as far as we know, and how maleness might be expressed spiritually is unknown.

Jesus does have a human body, and it is certainly a male body. So in the case of Jesus, there is no question as to how he is manifest.

you have to remember that before time even started, Jesus was there. Jesus is God.

as far are the Holy Father, back then males were viewed greater than females. how could a female be God is what they would think. but as i like to believe, God the father has no gender. the word "father" is given to him to show that he looks after us like a father would his children.

God bless

The Bible (God's written word) speaks of God as He and Father. He impregnated Mary. Jesus could have been a daughter if God had wanted Him to be but, He tells us that He impregnated Mary with His Son who was to be named Jesus.

He is Holy and He is Father. So, Holy Father.

god must be male because he created Adam in his own image, then created eve out of Adam's rib. Jesus was the descendant of two holy bloodlines so he was viewed as especially holy. Jesus was originally supposed to be the Jewish messiah, but then he turned away to create what would become Christianity.

Nobody knows if God is a male or female. The name 'Holy Father' is a name that we gave him because we think he is a male.

It's probably got something to do with Women being the root of all evil, hence, the "curse". You know, the story about the talking snake and the Tree of Knowledge.
Your right though, it is very gender biased. It's a pity.
