Actually, it only costs you 2 points. When you choose a best answer for your question, you gain 3 of those points back! Anyway, most people ask real questions that they want real answers to, and if your so worried about points, then why are you asking such a retorical question?

As you're asking this in jokes and riddles I'd say the benefits are to have a laugh at some of the answers. And if you choose a best answer you'll get 3 points back so it will have only cost you 2 points.

Points-wise not much, although you do get 3 points back when you choose a best answer. The benefit is that you can learn a lot from the answers to the questions you ask.

you loose 5 point infact its 2 if you choose the best answer answer for your question it does no good but one can gain points because of you .So ask more.
