There is always some comments that keep arising: "science hasn't proven that we come from monkeys" "if we came from monkeys, why are there monkeys" "scientists are now fumbling to keep their theory/guess of evolution from imploding" "more and more scientists are now accepting the theory of intelligent design while rejecting evolution" "Darwin recanted his theory on his death bed and became a Christian" and "there are no fossils showing transitions." How all these memes of false claims spread is so facinating. Do you agree?

All the time. I've heard them, and I recognize that there is a meme quality to much of religious dogma, not just the teachings against evolution. They are really relatively recent. A question I asked yesterday about the inerrancy of the Bible brought a stream of parrotted remarks that, in their very repetition, show their resilience and ability to survive in a hostile environment.

Of course, I repeat things, too. I've read the same questions so frequently I can answer them quickly. So there are arising atheist memes as well. Luckily we have science to examine them, which never occurs for the religious memes.

Not just them, and the R&S section of Yahoo Answers.

The whole site has been ... informative...

But there are other resources. Keep your eye on Snopes.com to see what makes a belief "believable"
They even started their own legend and released it in the to "wild" of the internet, for tracking purposes.

You can spot mutations creeping into story memes...
Names, dates, and locations shift, for example.

But for one note of caution...
Meme theory is itself a meme, which can spread (infect?), develop defensive layers...

Arrrgh! I've caught it!

Haha, that is true. Just people regurgitating the same cue-card lines because they sounded good the first time around. The creationists don't have a monopoly on the concept though. Just look at how many people say "I'm spiritual, but not religious."

A demonstration the evolution isn't about "better", but merely successful.
