Dry skin is a big thing. One of the problem is because we wash in chlorinated water everyday. Chlorine is a bleaching agent and it strips away the natural skin oil. All the cream and lotion we put on is not the same and it is a after application. I do have dry skin myself and I use shower filter. It really help is you case is same as mine. Use shower filter and also apply the cream to see it that works. I myself uses shower filter and finds it to work for me, but still I use cream.

When you take a shower use a nice body wash that moisturizes your skin, soap bars tend to dry your skin. Also put on plenty of lotions to relive dry skin.

Use unperfumed skin care products made for sensitive skin (fragrance dries skin out and can act as an irritant) or products made for babies, as these are intended for the delicate baby skin. Good luck.

You should look for a product that dose not contain alkaline substances, lanolin or paraffin, because usually these are the ingredients that upset your skin.
So, please try to select your products starting with your shower gel, soap, lotion and everything that comes in contact with your skin (even your cosmetics) knowing what is good and what isn't good for your skin.

a salt homemade salt scrub id a good idea. I've put a link below on how to make one.
Also NeoStrata Bio-Hydrating cream is a big help.
if something like those don't help a prescribed lotion from a doctor is recommended.
