He asked if I stopped by especially to see him.
I teased back "You're on to me!"
He asked what I meant. I said I was teasing.
I said I needed apples and Wal~Mart was out.
He said that made sense.
I really did go for apples.


Here's the question...
Is he "on to me"?
Or was his question wishful thinking on his part?

I think that was his attempt to try to 'break the ice'

Sounds more like playful teasing. He may be interested, keep flirting and if he gets the hint he may ask you out.

Why don't you just tell him you enjoy seeing him. He could be shy and this would help to break the ice. Make sure he isn't married.

he sees that you are an immediate flirt, so that probably turned him off, apples made sense to him but not the rest of the conversation. so he took his wishfull thinking and went on his way.
