You get to create your own reason, or adopt one from the many that are available to you in the culture. There's not "have to" or "should" except what you accept as requirements. If you don't accept them, you can do something else.

This may be hard or easy, depending on your choice. Not to choose is also possible, but since you're asking, I think you would find not choosing the worst option, since purpose is important to you. So notice what you're good at, what makes your energy rise, and what makes you feel connected to your world and community and gives you a sense of accomplishment. Those things are likely to give you a reason to exist. At least until a better one comes along.

Namaste.

What ever you deem worth making it; you are the top governing
factor aside from the powers that be "the govt" .
If you have a complicated or multitasking point of view then it will reflect in your reason if on the other hand you have a simple view you might just throw it up to g-d and sit back and watch the world go by thinking it's all taken care of . Some have so much work already they don't have time for anymore reasons.

Why do you suppose there would be a reason for existence. Of course I have a personal reason to love and care for my family and leave a better world for future generations. But as far as a purpose of the Human race. There can hardly be one. The human race will eventually go as the Do Do bird and there will eventually be no sign that it ever existed.

The plan for the soul is a cycle of experience that is unlimited in scope and duration. Through this evolutionary cycle, the soul will come to know the creation in all its aspects at the discretion of the will. The cycle would be completed when the desire of the will was no longer different from the thought of God. The consciousness of the soul would then merge with its spiritual consciousness of its identity with God. Then the soul will return to its source as the companion it was intended to be.

Way too in depth to post all of it here ... but if your question is sincere ... there is much information here that answers questions about human origins (and their purpose) not answered by traditional religion:

Everyones always asking what is the meaning of life, and search for this and that doing things to try to obtain what they think is happiness, searching for something that they don't know what they are really looking for, when really it is how you lived your life that matters in the end, that will be what you will think about ,not how much money you had or stuff you had, but who did you help, who did you love, who loved you, how did your presents on this little blue ball change or help anything or any one, who did you live for ,what did you live for what was the most important thing in your live.

when you had the chance to do something to help someone did you pat them on the back, or slap them in the face.
And when the end of this life for you is over and your new life begins, will you hear you've done a good job my child, welcome home, or will you hear depart from me I never knew you! Our reason for our existence in this world is to ,love, help , and prepare as many people as we can for their journey to the new world .

We were created to worship and love God. We are clearly created in the image of God. We do occupy a perfect structure for maneuvering in our environment. This form cannot be improved upon. We do rule in authority on earth as God rules in Heaven. We create, we speak, we ponder, we love, just like our creator.

God intends to take that which was first non-existent, then born in sin and corruption into a finite, disposable creation, and then redeem it and raise it up to be something adorned. He intends to make us Kings and Priests to reign with and give glory to God the father, and Jesus the son who redeemed us.

TV has lied to us. We are not a product of a big bang, created by chance from non-living matter. We are not evolving into a single race and gender to live as citizens of Federation Earth. We will never fly through worm-holes at warp speed or meet up with beings from another planet. Neither Star Wars, Star Trek nor Battel Star Glacataca is our future. Our future is in the bible, same as our past.

To learn about your Creator and do your best to follow His plan for you as an individual. As is very evident, not all will make it to their reward that Jesus had in mind for them to have. It's up to each individual whether they will receive God's grace and do what He wishes for them. So very many will take what this very limited earthbound existence offers and think they are the smart ones. They don't care about anything or anyone but themselves and it's getting worse everyday. The motto they follow now seems to be "Do unto others before they do unto you."

If you believe in God, your purpose is to worship your creator, glorifying Him in your daily works, so that one day you will be able to spend eternity with Him and fellow righteous persons.

If you do not believe in God, your purpose is to deal with the banality of evil in this world, slogging through each day, all marching to the inevitable end and nothingness. All the while wondering why you have these thoghts and ask the kind of important questions you are asking.

The fact that you ask, why am I here, implies something else exists beyond your own finitude.
