I do have to admit it is a better starting point for a debate than most, but I ask you.. Could the reason also be that there are so many similarities because we are descended from a common ancestor? Evidence supports that statement and does not support your statement.

Not really. After all the same creator supposedly created slugs and ostriches too but I don't hear much chatter about us being the same as them.
