The thing is God became a human. Jesus was God in the flesh. It was the supreme act of Love to suffer unjustly and then forgive those who killed him. Also, it was through His Resurrection, that He conquered sin and death.
Let's say an evil person is about to be sentenced to death. But God, wanting to forgive and save that person, says" I will suffer in his place".Imagine the impact this has on that evil person. He has never seen or experienced such love. In gratitude, he vows to change his ways and is transformed into a good person. One of God's creations has been salvaged. Now THAT is what is appealing to God.

God didn't kill Jesus. Jesus was not crucified. A man similar to Jesus was put up on the cross (Quran).
The real sinners are suffering a punishment. Everyone will get what they deserve. Whether it be now, in this life or on the Judgement Day.

Who ever said it was appealing to Him or that it satisfied Him? Read the Bible and you will find out... For God SO loved the World that he gave his only son that whoever believed in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Emphasis is on the For God SO loved the World bit...

...death is the ultimate sacrifice.... what more can you give...? and it's because God so loves "us"... YOU and me... that He allowed His Son to fulfill Scripture in death... knowing that it was going to be "Ok"... God has the Power over life and death. So, because of the sacrifice of "one" Man... you don't have to...
Praise The Lord !!!!! it's God way of paying for all our transgressions... a free-gift ! (I don't understand it) but I do accept it... Chuck

In a sense we are ALL godlike....we were created in his image....and the message in that story.....is that we will all suffer and feel pain....in our lives.....we will give and recieve...........and that we all are not perfect.....therefore it effects us all.
