I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income with limited resources. I have always served my community and fellow man in one shape or form. Right now I am a Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children. I have also volunteered for Hurricane Rita Victims (Red Cross), been to the floods in Appalachia and helped to rebuild, Helped Build a clinic for the Center of Hope in Managua, Nicaragua and worked with homeless veterans here in my city. I am trying to obtain a camcorder to film documentaries and short stories and I need the camera to incorporate stills in the video as well as make a hobby for myself. I have gone through life not asking for anything but, I now need to ask because of the prices attached to the items I need. Does anyone know of an organization that will help me? Thank you for your help.
I have served 8 1/2 years with the US Coast Guard and have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other associated disorders from a rescue that went bad.

i have a suggestion, become a member of http://www.freecycle.org it is a group of people that recycles items that people no longer use or want. you can post wanted messages and offers as well. there are local groups all over the US and probably one in your area.
try there while you contact foundations and other organizations.. you could get lucky
