- Mix one tea spoon of honey with 1 or 2 lemons & drink them and don't eat or drink for a while (repeat this immediately before going to bed).
- Make sure you cover your ears & face properly when u go out (so as not for the cold to get worse).
- Eat lots of Vitamin C rich foods as Oranges, tagerines and tomatoes (yeah!! believe me they are rich in Vitamin C).
- And of course an old favorite of mine "Chicken Soup" really it's one of the best remedies too along with all the above to cure common cold. Try adding a lemon with it, works out with me.
- Also, hot drinks like herbs, as: Anise and green tea with mint.
- I prefer you do all that instead of just taking medicine cause I believe these natural foods are the best remedies ever;)

Without sounding condescending, "where have you been the last 20 years?"

The common cold is caused by many different viruses, over 200 different ones at last count. At present, there 's no cure for ANY VIRUS! (Sorry for the caps)

There are many different remedies that people will list here - despite getting thumbs downed, guess what - they're all full of crap. Sorry, I wish they weren't.

There is too much info to list here. But I can tell you without reservation that Vitamin C, zinc, echinacea and others don't work. If they did, I'd recommend them and make an honest buck.

Rest, plenty of fluids is the best advice.

Do a honest search on the Internet - you'll see I'm correct.

There are no cures for the common cold. Just make yourself comfortable and it usually will pass on its own.

There are none. You can only try to make yourself as comfortable as possible and wait it out. Your immune system will take care of it, in time.

LOTS AND LOTS of vitamin c... I have always heard that vitamin c is your BEST friend when your sick, and when your not as it helps keep you healthy and fighting off bugs. I dont vaccinate my children and this is something we give them to keep there immunity up! Good luck!
