It's crucial that a person with that high of a temperature seeks medical attention immediately. A temperature as high as that can not only lead to seizures, but also brain damage. Even though a temperature of 102° is high, anything from 99° to 102° isn't anything to become overly concerned with unless the use of a fever reducer is not working. Anything over 102° should be dealt with by a medical professional.
In regards to your second question, it goes hand-in-hand with the first question. If someone is experiencing bouts of unconsciousness, it's extremely important that they be given medical treatment as quickly as possible. Their life could depend on it.
As far as your third question, I'm not sure of a definite answer. Each patient's case is different and could call for a different plan of care. If a patient is experiencing a mental deficit due to the high fever, chances are the patient will be in no position to even try to fight medical treatment. It just all depends on the patient, their medical history, their current case, etc. There is no one better answer over another in regards to this scenario.

Yes you can have seizures at 106 but not always.
If a person has 106 deg of fever yes they could be so sick as to not remember what had gone on during the highest time of sickness.
No one can make you stay in a hosp...it would be called AMA (against medical advice) if you leave before the doctor signs a release and is noted on your chart. That would release him from any lawsuit if you go back with serious problems for you left against his wishes to begin with.
As for the other one that answered about a doctor can admit you to a mental hospital......NO they can NOT. A mental hospital is either by self admit by the patient or a family member goes to the courts asking to have you committed, and the court has 2 doctors check a person and sign the forms saying you need mental care. So no, a doctor can't just say ok your going into a mental hospital. A doctor can call the law if he thinks you are a danger to yourself or others though and proper action is taken.

If your passing out and not remembering things, you need to get to the hospital PRONTO!!! This is verrrry dangerous! Your brain could be inflamed or swelling from the fever. Also you can take a cool bath, not cold,. Sometimes that helps to cool the body. And drink lots and lots of cold water or gengerale. Don't drink anything with caffeine in it because that will help to deplete your body of water. When you have a high fever it causes your body to dehydrate(loose water). It's like when you boil water on the stove and it eventually boils dry. You better get help.
Besides, why wouldn't you want to do what the doctor tells you?
That's what they are for.

Around 106, your brain begins to cook. This can cause delirium, memory loss or seizure. You can always leave the hospital if you are capable of making an informed choice. If you have been delirious from fever, it is not clear if your decision is informed or a result of the fever.

This is a medical link explaining high fever. If an adult gets a temperature of 104 it is recommend to go to the doctor. 106 is extremely high for an adult. A doctor cannot make you stay, but they will make you sign a release form if you refuse medical treatment as specified.

it happens, but prevention is key. if you even have a 101 fever you need to go to the doctor or Er. fever is always more serious in adults. No doctor can make you do anything. You can leave AMA (against medical advice). In that case your insurance *or God forbid Medicaid* will under no circumstances cover any of your hospital stay. because you went against what the doctors were advising. If you leave AMA and get sicker you are also not allowed to sue the hospital because it was your personal choice.

106 is very very bad. Passing out? Definately.
A doctor can infact do pretty much anything he likes. You see, if the doctor thinks its in your best interest, whether you consent or not they can do anything, provided they have a supportive second opinion. I mean come on, they can commit you to a pyschiatric hospital!

that is awfully high my friend. I suggest you go to the doctor. If high enough, it can cause some serious and/or permanent damage. Death is also a possibility.
